SLCD screens

I guess nobody knows what you'll get in the event of an insurance replacement.....

if its insurance and they replace it with a new device it will be a slcd but if its refurb most likely will be amoled

I'm not worrying about it. My phone is fine and does more than I can do with it. I was just curious.

I just got my Inc today and its an AMOLED screen

Yea i saw that before and was suprosed because i always thought lcds used less power than the amoled my battery life has been acceptable for the standard battery doesbt seem any worse than my friends amoled one so i dont mind lol.

Considering that battery life isn't a major problem for Desire owners (from what I've seen here, anyway), I'd guess that it will only make a big difference on the Desire. Given that battery performance is already such a pain on the Dinc, my guess is that SLCD will make less of an appreciable impact -- you'll be struggling to keep your device charged just like the rest of us!

Sooo true

I have one that I bought Friday online from Verizon that is an SLCD unit. It looks nice to me, but it wiashes out and is basically useless in direct sunlight. I can see if I shade it with my hand and kind of see it.

I get almost 8 hours from it on a single charge *IF* I basically don't use it and keep everything turned off but 3G network/data. If I listen to Pandora or watch any Youtube videos, it goes from 100% to 15% in about an hour or two. It's almost dead by lunch time. This is amazingly horrible as far as battery life - never seen anything like it. I have read all the threads I could on it and made sure I have all sync functions disabled (set to manual sync), basically no widgets, location/gps turned off, no apps running, and everything. It goes from 100% to 90% as soon as I take it off the charger and check my email in the morning before I even get going.

I have a new battery (the fat one - 2150 mah) coming from Verizon right now. I can't wait for it to get here. I guess I'll take my charger to work with me tomorrow so I can actually use my phone.

I saw one with an slcd screen today and its way sharper than amoled. Almost retina like.
