Slow charging?

Hi,
Anyone else experiencing slow charging? Maybe I'm just spoilt coming from a oneplus3 with dash charging but it seems to take an age to charge.
In my car I could charge up my old phone (on as normal 12v 2.1A car adapter) from 40% full in less time than my commute (about 40 mins) when I plugged in my note 8 today at 65% it estimates from 5hrs (in the 1A USB slot) to 1hr 45 when plugged in the other 2.1A slot. This was using my existing cable. When I use the one that came with the note 8 it dropped to 57 mins, still an age.
Anyone else experienced this, am I doing something wrong?

Yes my note charges much slower than my S8 plus did hopefully it a setting I am missing.

Just checked settings and it's set for fast charging

Also, I have a 3rd party fast wireless charger. With my wife's s7 edge it goes green when charging, indicating fast wireless charging. When I put my note on it, it stays blue, indicating normal wireless charging, the note does report fast wireless charging but it doesn't seem to charge that fast......
Something isn't right.

Fast charging is enabled.

I dont fast charge , thinking maby I will increase battery life that way ,also not really a need for me

I usually don't fast charge over night. I've noticed that it is taking a long time to charge on the wireless charger. It does not say it's fast charging using a Samsung fast wireless charger and fast wireless charging is turned on in the settings.

So yes, I have noticed that it takes at least twice as long to charge then my s8 plus did on regular charging.

Last night I was at 18% and 4.5 hours later I was at 89%. That seems slow to me

I know. I pick the phone up expecting it to be warm it hot, but it's neither.

That's really slow, even for regular charging wireless

I've experienced intermittent issues also, albeit rarely. Just yesterday I left my phone on my Samsung fast wireless charger when it was at 78% charge, went out to take care of some things for about 45 minutes, and came back home to find it was only at 83%! I had my Gear S3 connected remotely via LTE, which is not a feature I use often. But other than that, nothing was out of the ordinary. Usually my phone charges much faster than this, and once I plugged it into a cable charger (also not something I do often), the problem disappeared. Today I've used fast wireless charging, and my charging speeds have been perfectly normal.

Does anyone know a good app that monitors the charging battery? I have GSM battery monitor but I don't see any charging monitoring

There was a app i used years ago to help identify a issue I had. I can't remember what the issue or app name was but it just simply stated the charging mAh I think.

If I recall the issue was certain USB cables weren't able to fully deliver the 2A.

My Note 8 is charging very fast. I am surprised how long my battery lasts and how quick it charges.

Looks normal to me. Fast charging only works from below 60%. Then it's incrementally going to slow down as it nears 100%.

That's about the same amount of time an S7 reaches 100% from around 40%. And since the Fast Charge tech used in the Note 8 is the same as the S7, then looks normal to me.

Basically Fast Charge just shaves 30-45min in charging time from zero to full, but takes just a little over 30min to get from 5% to 60%.

My note 8 is doing the same thing. It was fast charging fine by cable,i then turned it off and when it came back on it was slow charging and said 4 hours to full charge. What the hell?
