Slow & laggy S3 mini

My mum's S3 mini seems to be really slow & laggy too. Is there a way to speed it up? Tried turning it off & on again but that didn't help. Also in 4-5 hours the battery went from 100% to 55%. Why is the battery dropping so much percentage when she hasn't used it at all? The battery is relatively new about 6 months old.

Any help on these problems would be a great help. She's starting to think she needs a new phone.

Try wiping the cache partition: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...ing-into-recovery-mode-galaxy-s2-s3-tab2.html

Does she have any "RAM booster/cleaner" apps installed? If so, uninstall them--they're usually counterproductive and can impact performance.

It would help to see some battery stats. Charge up to 100%, then let it drain to 20-30% with normal usage, without charging in between. Then show us:

1. The main Settings>Battery screen.
2. The fullscreen battery graph screen (which shows Awake time and Cell Signal Strength).
3. The Screen category (to see total Screen On time).
4. The Cell Standby category, if present (to see Time Without Signal).

Don't think she has any RAM booster/ cleaner apps installed. Will check though. Should I clear the cashe first then get the battery screen shots or get the screen shots first?

Wipe the cache first to see if the battery performance improves.

Wiped the cache & the phone was faster but still not 100%. Think its started to go slow again. Still gotta try & get those battery screen shots too but she keeps putting it on charge & I can't get the screen shots in time.
