slow motion videos. how to do them?!

I think I figured it out. It uses some algorithm to detect fast motion in the video and only shows slow motion options if it detects it. So some videos have the option and others don't. Unfortunately it doesn't show in the ones I wanted to use it in.

actually no, seems to be only brightly lit scenes that have the option. Maybe the frame rate is reduced below a certain light level.

Also I *think* when you offload the video, it will be 100% in slo-mo, compared to the on-device playback where you can pick what is slo-mo and what isn't. Haven't done it yet myself to test.

Google also just bought that video editing company, so I'm guessing there will be some powerful features added down the road.

there will be .... video/audio is an area with a huge amount of room for growth in the future

Nope, I had slow-mo working in pitch-black with the fireworks as above. Also I have the same version of Google Photos as you, no clue what the problem is really

If I play the video on any other media app besides Google Photos, the entire clip will be in slow-mo. Does anybody know how to edit the clip in Photos and save the editing of fast/slow-mo changes so other people can see it?
I would love to know the answer to this question, as well.

I have all of my photos and videos automatically uploaded to a cloud service (OneDrive) upon taking them, but even when I change which parts of my high-frame rate videos should appear in slow motion, this change does not carry over to my cloud storage. I can only see the change reflected on my device itself, but the video as it is uploaded to the cloud makes the entire thing slow motion. Wish there was a way to save the edited copy on my phone to be properly shared elsewhere. Maybe this is a feature that will be coming soon?

Just wanted to add that I too do not have that visible above the progress bar. There are no updates in the play store, the version of Google Photos is 1.11.0.110496109.
