Slow upload

Sometimes I am in an area with great reception, such as in a room right next to my wireless router, and I try to upload a picture or a video to my own email account. Instead of uploading right away, however, my mail will show "sending" and it will either not send at all or take hours to send. How do I get around this?

I'd like to know that too. It happens with me very often. Anyone?
