Slow Wi-Fi Network File Transfer Speed in Nougat

The Samsung forum has this long thread about S8 users having slow Wi-Fi LAN file transfer speed. I have the same problem on my S7 Edge with Nougat. One curious thing is that when I upload from smartphone to PC, I get normal speed, which, for me, is about 366 kilobytes/second under 802.11g. I know this is normal because I get the same speed (up and down) on my Note 3 with Lollipop. But on my S7 Edge, the speed I get while downloading from PC to smartphone is just 117 KB/s. Downloading from PC, of course, is the more common thing to do than uploading, so this is not ideal. Is anyone's experience regarding this issue same as mine? I use this File Manager app to all the LAN file transfers. And my PC is Windows 7.

On my S7 Edge running Nougat, I just transferred a 109MB file from a PC (Win 10) to internal memory on an 802.11 b/g/n network (2.4GHz) and got about 400KB/s. I used ES File Explorer Pro.

Have you tried other networks to see if the transfer speed is consistent? Are Internet speeds as expected?

What is your speed when you transfer from smartphone to PC?

I get great (as expected) speed for both wired and wireless Internet connection. The only slowness is for downloading (not upload) with wireless LAN connection.

I tried it at my home network and office network and got the same results.

The problem is the smb protocol in android it to complex to explain use ftp you will get full speed add a free ftp server to win 10 and set up es to access that.

I just tried ES File Explorer and suddenly I could download and upload at 1 megabyte/second with 802.11b/g 2.4GHz. So I guess the slowness is due to the Android file transfer app. It is my turn to ask you why you get only 400 kilobytes/sec.

When I use ES File Explorer I get what I think is my normal speed for 802.11b/g 2.4GHz: 1 megabyte/second transfer speed. And I use "LAN" instead of FTP in ES. Hence, it seems my slowness (366 and 117KB/s) was due to the Android file transfer app I used before.
