I did a full wipe before I restore my Nexus 4 with the factory image. Now I'm having issues with slow wifi speeds but only after the phone has been on for a little while.

I also installed 4.3 on my 1st gen Nexus 7 and haven't had the same issue. I did speed tests at the same time and I get about 30 mb down on the Nexus 7 and about 700 kb down on the nexus 4. If I do a reboot the speeds come back but after a little while it slows down again.

Anybody else having this problem or know a solution? I've been on CM 10.1 nightlies prior to this so I never had the issue before and don't know if it's a common issue with stock android on the N4. I did search and find suggestions for the app wifi fixer but not sure I really trust an app to fix this type of problem. Thanks for the help in advance.

My Nexus 4 also has slow wifi after the update. I used to average about 20mb down on my home wifi now after the update I get 3 or 4 down.

My wireless speed hasn't changed since 4.3 its still 17-20 down 1 up. Maybe forget network and reconnect or reset router. I'm not sure why the wireless speed should be affected.

Yeah, I've tried forgetting and reconnecting and that really doesn't fix it. About the only thing that works is a reboot and then it will be fast again but then it slows back down.

I read on xda about people having the same issue with 5ghz and 2.4 ghz that the 5 ghz was the culprit. I haven't had a chance to check and I've also reverted back to CM 10.1 for now.

Maybe that will help some people who are having this issue.

I switched my wireless to G only and I still experienced slow speeds. The Speedtest.net app shows huge fluctuations in speed and my ping is usually over 500ms on two of my Android 4.3 devices. When I run the test on a wired connection on my desktop, I'll get a ping <25ms with fast speeds. I've also used a wireless connection on my desktop and do not have the same slow speeds.

I think I found the problem. When I turn off my bluetooth headset my wifi goes from 10mb back to its normal 20+

Please see if you can verify on other phones. This was on a galaxy nexus running a clean 4.3 but exactly the same problem.

Yeah, I'm getting the same issue on my 5GHz router connection. I haven't experimented to see if the 2.4GHz connection will solve the issue or doing the forget and add.

Re: Slow WiFi after Clean 4.3 install - TURN OFF WIFI optimization & reboot router

I Found wifi optimization in 4.3 was constantly pinging my wifi router enough that it mucked up my NETGEAR performance.
I disabled optimization (wifi on, click on wifi, upper right menu, click advanced).
This is supposed to put your nexus device (mines a nexus 10) into reduced wifi transmit/receive power level and just pings the router to keep alive.I also changed "keep wifi on during sleep" to always.
Eats battery a bit faster (if you're away from wifi heck just turn it off... But don't forget to also disable "scanning always available" or even when you click wifi off, it still says on in background!).
So make all the above changes. Back out to home. Power off tablet.
Reboot your wifi router.
Then power up tablet.
This stabilized both my 2.5ghz and 5ghz access for the tablet.
There ARE some funky things via Android 4.3 still happening (touchdown HD connection issues, Firefox occasionally can't find a site but chrome can, etc.) but the above helped with my wifi issues. Turning Bluetooth on or off didn't fix anything for me.
Hope this helps.
Ken :)

I read the same thing. I'm running stock, but the fix they suggested required your phone to be rooted. Anyway, I've started to use the 2.4 ghz connection and my speeds improved drastically. I'm probably going to give Kenneth's suggestion a shot.

I did disable the WiFi Optimization, but I didn't see any improvements. So I re-enabled it. Although, I didn't reboot everything afterwards.

Try 5 Ghz with two digit channel (e.g. 44 or 48) - set it up in your router. I saw it somewhere on forums and it worked for me. It's some system bug after update.

I was running G only before the 4.3 upgrade and was getting 20 Mbps down. After the upgrade today, and no other changes, I am now getting only 10 Mbps. I read through all the threads, but I don't see a consistent fix for the problem.

Expierincing the same thing... Is this an already known issue by google? I really would like to use full speed wifi (and not only a few minutes)

Have around 22mbit after starting wifi and after ca. 5 min. it goes down to 4-5mbit and for example youtube isnt working properly any more....

I never tried it, but there is a YouTube specific fix here:

Re: Slow WiFi after Clean 4.3 install - TURN OFF WIFI optimization & reboot router

I had very slow wifi after 4.4.2 update at home on my ageing router 2.4ghz. What worked for me was changing from all 802.11 b/g/n to 802.11n only. Dont know why it worked but it did, went form 1-3 Mbps internet to 9-10 (close to my internet speed on my pc) Before doing this i tried everything I could find and nothing else worked. For me tho the wifi at work was fine.
