Slower speeds with Unlocked ver. on T-Mobile?

Not how are you measuring that? I noticed on the past that t-mobile branded versions of hardware would scale the signal meter differently than the unlocked version. But if I looked at the numerical value, the signal strength was identical.

I still have my S10+. Side by side at work S10+had 5 bars, Note 10+ had 2 bars. Hopefully the meter not that off.

Don't go by the signal indicators, in my testing perviously at least in my location there wasn't any difference in actual speeds between the unlocked and carrier versions when I was with T-Mobile. Carriers like to show more bars in their firmware maybe but actual speeds and connection no difference. If carrier bloat and carrier firmware doesn't bother you then yeah just for your peace of mind flashing the carrier firmware to make it carrier version doesn't hurt. Personally always prefer the non carrier firmware but that's just me.

PS: if you aren't familiar flashing, then be careful and don't brick your device

I'll try to remember and do a speed test tomorrow then.

Yeah I never bother doing speed test but I've noticed in areas I went in that cell phone coverage was not good my unlocked phones would get no service vs a carrier firmware phone would have it . Not often it happens but that's my finding.

Don't believe any of that but this is what t-mobile said. I had full signal strength on way home with 120 download speed so guessing whatever band is work is weaker???

Does the unlocked on T-Mobile support WiFi calling? I have it on my note 8 and want to know if now 10 still supports it.

Yeah noticed the same thing today , in the basement at work
I used to get service (2 bars) on my t-mobile s10+
No service at all on note 10+ unlocked , didn't like that

Looks like a common issue on ATT and T-moble. Trying to find if only the unlocked version or not. If only unlocked may try and Odin carrier version. Only reason I went unlocked was the $600 trade in.

Yeah , probably the carrier aggression.

Disappointing to hear this! Ordered an unlocked Note 10+ to be used on Mint Mobile, using T-Mobile's network, and this would be very unfortunate if this is the case. Hopefully the issues are just from the TMobile version showing a false signal while the other phone shows it correctly. I'd recommend using the CellMapper app on both devices to find out, in dBm's.

I'm not seeing any slow speeds with my unlocked VS S10+.. Tomorrow will be first day back to work will also test it out..

Yep, no bars in my basement vs 2 bars previously on pixel 3 xl. -117 sell signal but still can make calls and send texts. Not sure how to feel about this lol. Definitely a bummer though to see reception not as strong.
