Wow AT&T, why are they making it so hard for an unlocked phone to work on their network. It's absolute bull**** if the imei or something has to be in their database for stuff to work.

As long as the phone supports the bands, right APN is entered everything should magically work without talking to single soul of any carrier. At least that's how it works in T-Mobile now and used to work with AT&T when I was with them few years back. If they have changed that now it's shame on them.

The thing is for AT&T they want the manufacturer to certify the phone for their Network. And they want him at the manufacturer to pay for it. AT&T will certify it and put the IMEI in the network as long as the manufacturer will pay for it. This is why the HTC 10 which is fully unlocked and no where on there Network works is because HTC paid AT&T to certify it and put the IMEI in their database. This is just how AT&T does it. Is it wrong Maybe but they want to make sure the phone is going to work on their Network so people will be happy and they don't have any problems.

That's so horrible it's almost like the crappy Verizon. I'm happy that T-Mobile doesn't do this but I want more competition and don't like fewer carrier options to use any phone I want. Well probably don't matter since unfortunately 99% of the people including majority here have no problem using locked down, carrier stamped versions.

This is a process that has to be initiated by Samsung. I'm not sure why they don't have the unlocked s7's in their database. Samsung may have given at&t the middle finger or it has been certified but there's a screw-up in updating at&t's IMEI database.

Samsung giving AT&T middle finger? No my friend they are very much in bed with the carriers. Giving middle finger is no carrier variants and treating the carriers like Apple does. Probably Samsung /AT&T don't care about the GM930/935 U since they know people is the US love their carriers and continue buying carrier branded phones.

Also these models are called special edition and was available before for businesses to buy, they just made this available to general public couple of weeks back. If they really cared about this version it wouldn't be still on May security update. I think it's just there to appease a minority like me who hates carrier phones but they will never care about this model.

Just blows my mind as to why Samsung wouldn't have the phone certified with at&t. I mean little ole HTC has been doing it but I guess they have more incentive to push inventory.

Not caring is really how it comes across to those like me and you. I would have liked to own this phone but i'm not switching carriers. at&t is the only carrier that covers all my needs. It upsets me that at&t seems to be unfriendly to unlocked devices. It's also upsetting that Samsung wouldn't have the phone certified.

I went back to the AT&T store today, and after a few minutes of troubleshooting the guy tried using the IMEI of one of the S7s they had on display. That fixed my issue, and I was out the door in less than 15 minutes. It's not a perfect solution though. Google Voicemail doesn't seem to work for example.

So long as it supports Verizon primary lte band then it will work on Verizon, just pop in an active Verizon 4GLTE sim. No need to contact Verizon. This works even when the imei is not in Verizon's database.

I just ordered an SM-G930U Galaxy S7 for use on AT&T, hopefully I get LTE. I live near an AT&T store in case I need help. If all else fails, I'll consider moving to T-Mobile as I'm out of contract with AT&T.

I have had no issues with my 930U on AT&T...
Perhaps it's a regional issue you are experiencing??
I have only had it for 3 weeks now.
What an upgrade from my S5 !!!
