Smart lock and fingerprint issues

I have a problem with my S6 edge, if I use the smartlock with trusted location home it works just fine when i'm in my house, no fingerprint required, I can swipe the screen and use my phone. The problem is that if I go out, even 50 km away from home, the phone won't ask me for my fingerprint, only swipe required. I looked for a answer but didn't find any thread that give a fix for my problem, right now I've deactivated the smart lock but I work at home so I'd love to use that feature!
