Smart Lock on my S9+ is inconsistent

When I set it up it worked, when the 4 hour automatic lock occurs Smart lock fails, although I am still at my trusted location (Home), sometimes I can reset it by just going to Smart Lock->Trusted locations, sometimes by going there and slightly moving the location, sometimes I have to delete and re-enter the location, sometime none of that works but if I wait a short while and try all of those again it works.

when it is working I can leave the location and come back and it works, the trusted device has worked so far

Welcome to Android Central! Is your Location set to High Accuracy or Battery Saving? If it isn't High Accuracy, then the location accuracy might be off by as much as several hundred meters, which can make the phone think you're not actually in your Trusted Place.

Also make sure you use your current location as the trusted place and not your actual home address.
Because for example maps is showing my location when I'm at home as 7 wallstreet but I live at 10 wallstreet so if I would use my home place as my trusted place it would never work.
