Smart Switch Question

I am using Smart Switch on my computer to backup my s22u to copy to a s25u.

I would like to backup my phone calls (logs) but NOT my contacts because then Google will back them up and I'll end up with two copies of every contact. It happened to me the last time.

The selection of items to back up includes Call and Contacts but no way to back up unless calls and NOT the contacts.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I've not had issues with double contacts while using Smart switch but I also backup my data from the settings on my phone and you are able to untick one or the other

So when I get the new phone and connect to computer and click restore I will then have all those choices? I'm backing g up to a computer. IT chooses the categories not my phone?

I'm going to have to check when I'm near a computer, I've used the computer backup and restore but I don't remember the options

What were you backing up the pictured phone to?
I just have a regular backup which is saved to the cloud I guess, I also have the Smart switch app on the phone which I see what you mean when you hit back up it gives you the categories and has calls and contacts on there

Another idea is not to have calls and contacts backed up and then use an app like SMS backup Pro which I saved my call logs and my text messages, I use that with all my phones when I'm switching back and forth and I want to keep stuff up to date highly recommend the app you could save your call logs and your text messages fully and I back them up to the drive

I've never had duplicates backing up with PC smart switch and Google's back up also Samsung cloud
I don't know why it happened but it did. I used smart switch from note 9 to s22 ultra and it put in the contacts in then google synced and put them in a second time. I dad to delete them one at a time. Once synced, Google backed up both copies of each contact so all of my other devices also got two copies.

Yes it saves your messages and your call logs or whatever you choose to save you could do it manually or you could have it scheduled on your phone whichever way you want and then I have mine going to my Google drive. When I'm setting up a new phone or switching my esim to my other line I just use the latest backup to have all my messages and call logs from the last phone on the new one

My guess is the big gap from note 9 to the s22 in Android versions if you do that I don't recommend anything but pictures and videos don't transfer setting and usually the rest can end up what you deal with among other things.
