Smart Things to TV question.

Hey guys just wondering if there's a way to mirror what I have on my phone to tv and still be able to use my phone at the same if I decide to minimize the app?? It seems like I use to be able to do this but do not remember how I did it.. thanks in advance

HDMI to USB-C would mirror your device but That’s it.

I use the Smart Things app to mirror my N20U screen to my Samsung TV. If I'm mirroring a video and go to messages, etc, the video pauses and goes into the background. Maybe if you did a split screen? But the split screens would most likely both show up on the TV as well.

Yeah so I'm looking to be able to mirror football games from my phone to tv screen and still being able to use my phone at the same time ..theres gotta be a way..I know I use to do this

Mirroring to any external monitor or TV is just that...a mirror. What happens on your phone will happen on the monitor.

I still haven't gotten around to messing with DeX on my Note 20, so I don't know if it functions the same as with my tablet, but if I connect my Tab S4 tablet to a monitor, I can have DeX functionality on the monitor and tablet functionality on my tablet screen. This allows for independent operating of both at the same time. So I could be watching a video via DeX on the big screen and checking email or web browsing on the tablet screen...or vice versa.

I figured it out...if use Dex u can mirror to tv and still use ur phone at the same time without staying in the initial app...scoreeeee
