How are the smilies & emojis working on JB 4.1. Anyone have a stock device, and can give me some feedback?

Its part of Android language and input now..

Go to Settings-->Language and Input-->Android Keyboard [Click settings icon]-->Add-on Dictionary--> You should see emoji for English words.
Click install if you want them.

But i am not sure how to add external emoji pack to the keyboard.

So I have to have a special keyboard to use emoji? Can use it in the stock messaging app that comes with the sgs3?

Sent from my SGS3!

I dont remember if its available for ICS but for Jelly Bean I can guarantee that its there in the default android keyboard.

sgs3 is getting Jelly bean in few weeks so you dont have to wait long for it. see my comments above.

It's NOT available for ICS, and my Vivid will NOT be getting JB. I'll wait and see how it looks on the SG3, so it may be time for a change.:(

as far as i know the only devices with emoji keyboards are the nexus devices running 4.2.2. It runs ok on my nexus 7 its nice to have i suppose

I cant find the add on dictionary setting anywhere....helppppp

It's not in mine either. I don't have add-on dictionary options; just a set number to choose from, none of which are the emoji for english words.
As a workaround, you can get emoji through the Kii keyboard or by using GoSMS, Pansi SMS, or Chomp SMS.
