SMS fail to Blackberrys

Over the past few months I have had issues with failed text messages. It can happen every few days or go weeks in between. I have narrowed down that the failed text messages are to individuals who own Blackberrys. I am not sure which provider they use, but lets just assume its Sprint (thats the one I know for sure). Typically the following day I am able to send them text messages again without problems. At the time of failure, I am still able to send text messages to other people. Reboots, etc do not fix the problem either.

I have a rooted HTC EVO and this occurs on CM7, MIUI and sense based ROMS as well.

Has anyone else have this issue of failed messages to Blackberrys? Is there a fix?

My wife has a Blackberry (she is on Sprint) and I never had a problem sending sms to her and vise versa.

It does seem odd that only Blackberry phones are seeing this problem.

I had that same problem. In my case the BBs Curve 8330 were receiving random characters and the SMS I sent never reached them. My wife has a newer BB and it never happened when sending her an SMS. The solution is found was using Google Voice app. Since using GV I haven't had this happen again.
