SMS Notification alert won't disable

This is a very strange issue that I can' t seem to resolve. I get into work and immediately put my phone on vibrate and verify the little vibrate icon is displaying in the top of the screen, as I do not want to bother my co-workers. Then when someone posts on my Facebook wall, I will get an SMS notification indicating that someone has just posted or replied to a post. It immediately notifies via the default notification whistle that I have a message. I will then look at my phone and the vibrate icon is gone. I then click the slider to move it back to vibrate and its already on vibrate. Now if this had happened just a couple of times, I could write it off as I had accidentally not slid it all the way to vibrate, but this happens every single day at work after putting it on vibrate. I don't have the facebook app installed on my phone, its just facebook sending me an SMS message and it always makes a sound.

Any ideas? I am beyond frustrated with this and I can't find anyone else who is experiencing this

I don't use Facebook, so I can't try to replicate your issue - perhaps someone else that does will give it a shot.

Rather than using the volume slider have you tried using the Quick Toggle from the Status bar?

Does this happen if you receive any other regular SMS?

This is the only thing I get SMS notifications on. I can try the quick toggle and see. I usually get it once in the morning, so I will test tomorrow morning.
