SMS Problem...keep reappearing. Not syncing properly. Help!

I keep having glitchy problems with my SMS's.

I was using Handcent since I got my phone, but I recently deleted it thinking IT maybe the problem, but its not; as old SMS threads appeared today using the stock Messaging app.

I delete all the threads I am not currently using or use on a regular basis. Then after sometime has passed (sometimes an hour or two, sometimes its a day)...tons of old threads reappear. Some that I haven't 'used' in months!

Also, when viewing threads I do use often (such as to my wife) when I first open it the last message showing will be one for weeks or months back, but after I send a message to her (or receive one) the thread is updated correctly. Exit out of the application and then go back, and the problem reappears. Its like the conversation we JUST had isn't showing at all, UNTIL i send another text (or get one)

Any idea what is causing this?

I figured this wealth of knowledge someone would maybe be able to shed some light on my problem.

I guess I am one of the lucky ones that this has only happened to. Yay me. lol
