Hello I have a regular Sprint S7 and my wife has a Sprint S7 Edge. We both are on Nougat and do not mind it per say.

My question is I use (or used) Textra Pro for my text messaging and she is on stock messaging. Lately it is taken over 2-3 hours for her to get my text messages and vice versa. When I text others it seems to go through rather quickly, including iphone users.

Should I go back to stock for a bit and see if that helps overall ? I am keeping textra in my back pocket because I like it, but I am wondering if I clear cache etc...will that help?

Thanks in advance.:D

I'm having exactly the same problem, I've tried clearing the cache, the data, re-syncing the messages, excluding it from battery saving. Sometimes it works other times I get stupid delays.

It's one of the many problems which I have encountered since the new nougat update.

I would be interested to hearing how you get on with stock and if that solves the problem. The issue for me is there is no easy way of finding when messages were actually sent using stock messages, so you don't know if they are delayed or not...

I've just found another setting which might help. Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't know this but it seems totally counter intuitive.

There are two separate settings for disabling app power monitoring

1) Unmonitored apps right at the at the bottom of the battery screen - this is part of the stupidity of nougat, having to scroll through a whole list of apps before getting to the important settings (Not to mention that these battery settings would be really useful if accessible from the individual app pages)

2)Battery>Battery Usage, click on the 3 dots and optimise battery usage. Where you can again whitelist apps.

I've just tried changing the Textra settings in the later area and will see if that helps.

I am going to try stock for a while again. I have cleared all the cache, data, and I am going to be patient. I like textra...but maybe its just Sprint. Who knows. Any other feedback would be helpful.

I am frustrated with getting texts like 2-3 hours after I should of gotten them or sent them.

:(

I'm in the UK with a European model and UK provider.

My provider gets blamed for many things but I'm pretty sure it's not the problem here.
