Smsung S7 Edge messenger issue ?

I got Samsung S7 Edge
I'm not receiving any notification when someone send me a message on messenger until I open the app. Whenever I open the messenger app. it firstly shows "Connecting... " and after I get connected I receive the message. While whenever I open the fb app. I can see that I have a new message and by clicking the icon it takes me to messenger app. that shows first "Connecting .." and then I can receive the message

Check that notifications are on in the app's settings and that you haven't restricted the background data on Messenger. If everything seems fine on that front, try signing out and back into Messenger. (FB Apps are quite buggy, so that might help).
