Snapchat bug on 4.3 Nexus 4

So this morning I got a message from Snapchat that the recent crashes are caused by a bug in Android 4.3. They said they can't do anything about. I also heard that chromecast and Netflix are having issues. Will Google fix this and when? With 4.4 or sooner?

It is a change in security and not a bug. There is nothing for Google to fix. This change caused issues with many apps, but most have been updated for compatibility now, including Netflix. If the developer of Snapchat refuses to fix the issue, then you are out of luck.

I've also gotten this message and error. They say the fault is not on their end but rather Google's 4.3 end.

Doesn't pass the smell test. If it's an Android 4.3. problem, how come all my other apps work correctly? If there's a defect in 4.3, it's a defect that many other apps accidentally avoided, right? So if Snapchat does what every other app developer does, they'll avoid the problem. Voila!
