The Snoppa ATOM is a very small, folding gimbal. One of the benefits is that is allows for heavier attached weight (up to 300g) than most small consumer gimbals. It also allows for easy switching between the landscape and portrait orientations of the phone.

I've used it to make smooth videos with the 360 Camera Mod on the Moto Z2 Force as well as it works with the wireless charging mod to allow for charging while attached to the gimbal. It uses USB C charging so no need to have a different charger.

I can recommend it for my use case but I don't use the Snoppa app which would give other features. Most gimbal apps are buggy but can do things that the native camera can't, but perhaps later I'll try them out and see how they well they work.IMG_20190117_compare_size.jpgIMG_20190118_360cam.jpgIMG_20190118_wirelessmod.jpg

Interesting, albeit a bit pricey. So you just use it as a gimbal? Can you control the 360 camera from the grip?

And just out of curiosity, how do you deal with the low volume of the mike that faces you in relation to the mics on the cam itself?

I didn't find it pricey at all. It was the same price as the DJI Osmo Mobile 2 that I purchased before it. The only 360 camera software for the mod is Motorola's and there's no interface to it from any 3rd party hardware that I'm aware of. I can rotate the camera and pan and tilt but since it's a 360 camera doing that really doesn't give additional benefits.

When I created handheld 360 videos they were very shaky and weren't pleasant to use in a Google Daydream. The gimbal makes it all smooth and records an environment where you can walk and look around at everything without getting dizzy.

I chose the Snoppa Atom because it could support the weight, support the orientation switch and was small enough to put in my glovebox so I could use it at anytime. With the 360 camera attached I can take 360 photos and videos as well as regular photos and videos. That was my use case. Once mounted it could be used either way without having to remove it and reattach it. However, even without the 360 mod attached it can handle the phone with a thin case so that was an added bonus.

I haven't really done much with audio. I captures spatial audio so you should be able to hear the sound in the proper direction. Perhaps if you rotate your headset the sound will correspondingly move as well. Watching a live performance would be so much more interesting that way. I don't use it for vlogging so I can't comment on that.
