So A Panda walks into a bar....

What makes the S2 that much better than the GN, if they both were running ICS?

Either way, the GSII will always have those capacitive buttons down there and will always have TouchWiz, even with 4.0. No thanks, Nexus for me :) And then a year from now, I'll buy the next Nexus and the next Nexus...as long as Verizon keeps getting them.

I think if the next nexus is made by moto verizon would definitely get it. I mean verizon and moto are in bed together and would make sense verizon essentially got the first and only moto nexus(droid) why wouldn't they get the other nexus that moto makes.

Who knows what the specs for the next Nexus may be, what with the on-chip technology getting more and more miniscule every 6 months.

My guess is that eventually you'll find both GSM and CDMA radios integrated into a single device, making ties to a particular carrier and device a non-issue...

Ahh, good to know. Especially since even though the camera is important to me, it is not near the top of the list of what I look for in a phone. So I'm not discouraged.

Exactly, if I want to take some high quality photos I'll get a real camera to do so. If I need to take a picture or something quickly that's unexpected I am sure the GN camera will be more then fine for that. Never understood why people freak out over a camera on a CELL PHONE anyways. I mean I understand camera is a nice feature to have on a cell and all but as long as I have a device that takes good pictures (does not have to be absolutely phenomenal) I'm happy.

a camera phone is good for one thing...... taking pictures of things you would take pictures of with a phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its really that simple! if you are wanting to purposefully take photos of something important take a dang camera. a 5mp camera phone will be fine.

not to mention, 99% of the pictures are quick, holy crap moments or out of the blue quick kids moments etc. the zero lag shutter will be 10x more useful than 3 extra mp for these situations period. that is not an opinion, that is a fact! now if the zero lag feature is baked into ICS and not the nexus then i would obviously want the best of both worlds, who wouldnt?

has anyone tried Android's +1 or facebook or twitter pages to ask this question?

I think the main point of a camera in a phone is for situations where you don't carry your camera. I doubt most people carry a "real" camera with them 24/7 so its nice to have the best possible camera you can in your smartphone because that is what you will carry the most..IMO. I'm sure that sometime in the not so distant future, cameras in smartphones will be pretty close or equal to a good point and shoot. Its easy for people to just say, "If I want to take high quality photos I'll get a real camera" but unless your planning this photographic opportunity you will most likely only have your smartphone. This is why I hope these company's continue to challenge each other with better and better optics.

Personally, some of the stills taken from the GN side-by-side with 4S pictures compared really nicely. I'm no camera/photo buff, but I'm pretty impressed with what it can do. I think it will be more than enough, from a casual perspective.

I don't ever expect my phone to replace my DSLR, but I do want it to replace my Point-n-Shoot. And the simple 8MP cam on my DInc has done that well enough.

I want to walk into a bar with only my phone and be able to have memories of the night...and without a camera there's not much chance of that. ;)

LOL! i can assure you for that situation the Gnex will perform quite well

I thought BMX mentioned in another thread that they took a modified SGSII 8mp camera and limited it to 5mp so they would be able to have the zero lag feature. He said that memory fast enough to write all that information for a 8mp would have been too expensive to include in the phone so I don't think the zero lag feature is part of ICS.

A UI shouldn't be an issue if phone is rooted and unlocked, most talk about Vanilla Android but a huge percent will most likely be running custom ROMS and launchers anyways that a GSII or say an HTC can also run.
