So A Panda walks into a bar....

Panda,

Any word on the exact thickness of the Verizon LTE Nexus? It is supposed to be thicker than 8.9mm they advertised right?

I dont have a MM gage but it is a bit thicker than the gsm version.. but nothing that is noticeable to the naked eye or touch.. its nowhere near Razr thin I will say..

That's good. That means I'll think it's super thin since I'm coming from a Thunderbolt.

any insider info on a release date or anything like that panda? verizon is being tight lipped like always. Just release it or atleast give us a concrete date.

There's not much out there that's thicker than the TBolt lol I think you're gonna be very happy with the Galaxy Nexus.

Actually, P3Droid posted comparison pictures between his LTE Nexus and other devices: Side by Side Comparisons GNex vs ()

The GN looks a little bigger than the Bionic but, slightly thinner. I loved the size of the screen on the Bionic and, can't wait to get my hands on the G-nex. I have no doubt that it will be an awesome experience. :)

I don't see any threads about this.

I thought I saw a mention that the GN would have a flash memory protocol. That you could connect thumb drives or even SD card readers to a microUSB dongle.

This sparked my interest. Being able to connect DSLR or point n shoot memory in the field.

I'm surprised that one or all the digital camera manufacturers haven't made a bluetooth or wifi protocol to connect a camera with a phone. To manage or upload hi-quality pics. I usually forget to upload camera pics by the time I get to a PC.

I have no experience with a phone this size. I wear cargo khakis daily, will I have any issue toting it in the front pocket.

The Galaxy Nexus supports USB On-The-Go, which allows it to act as a host for other USB devices, as long as those devices don't require custom drivers to function. Any standard USB memory device will be supported as long as you've got a female-to-male, Type-A-to-Micro-B USB adapter, or a dock that jacks into the Micro port on the Nexus and offers a Type-A receptacle.

If a camera allows access to stored photos as a USB-compliant memory device, then the Galaxy Nexus can access the stored pictures.

Panda, I think my question got lost in all the other questions but what other than MPs makes the GSII camera better than the G-Nex Camera?

Again, I have NO experience with a phone this size. I'm coming from an envy touch feature phone I carry on a swivel belt clip.

You can still carry this on your belt but you will need a harness and a load bearing vest to support the weight. LOL.

I don't know much so bear with me.

So If I have the correct cable will I be able to connect my USB flash memory stick to this phone? If so will the phone be able to read/write files from/to this stick? So like with the correct app it could read or write pictures, or data, or music from/to the stick?

LBVs are so 90s. Chest rigs are the way to go!

Actually, for my fellow field workers / first responders / git-r-dones, I have found the Seidio Active X to be a better case than what Otterbox offers simply because it will work with my extended battery. Hope they make one for the GN as well.

Oh I know bro, no worries. Actually I have never held any of those either, lol, I'm married so I don't keep many friends and I work with a bunch of women and technologically challenged men.
