So, anyone thinking about jumping ship?

Yea. I jumped ship to a g4 . The specs on the note 5 are underwhelming. The batteries are the same the screen resolution is the same. The cost of the note 5 is much higher with the built in ram of 64 gigs.

The Sony's an interesting option. I've been wanting to try out the Sony line, but never went so far as to get one. I still favor the replaceable battery and SD Card over any of the other phones though.

I have had Samsung phones but still not interested in returning to them anytime soon.
I will have looked at the next Moto X , and will check out the next Nexus (LG's model) Those are the 2 phones with my highest interest
But just looking right now :)

No. Not for another 3 years.

I've already decked the hell out of my G4 with the Spigen Slim Armor, extra battery, 10,400mAh battery bank for that battery, 128GB SanDisk Ultra and an Anker QC 2.0 wallwart that's soon to arrive, along with a pen that doubles as a capacitive stylus and some NFC tags, along with a tripod.

While I really love the S Pen, it's not going to be enough for me to get a Note again. I loved using the Note 3 and the 4 was my favorite device of 2014.

Needless to say, the Note 5 doesn't fit my usage needs and as such, I'll be keeping my G4, which has served me extremely well for nearly 3 months now.

Nah. I don't like the direction Samsung went with non-removable battery and no option for additional memory. Just another iPhone now. No doubt it will be a very nice device but I'm more than happy with my G4.

Yes! The Moto X, and S6 plus have piqued my interest. If LG would fix the touch responsiveness issue it would be perfect.

The new Motos have my interest (as a phone for my wife because it's smaller), but there are 2 things that I'm not sure about: (caveat... I find the Moto model names confusing, especially when it comes to what is available in Canada vs US. If the Moto you're referring to doesn't match what I'm writing about then please ignore this post!)

a) In Canada we can only get the 8GB version of the Moto G which means you're totally relying on SD storage -- as I've found, the Lollipop external SD security API is rarely implemented, even by Google's own Photo app, so writing to SD can be finicky. SD is also potentially a risk for failure -- I'd hate to have to be essentially forced to store all my data on SD. Maybe a 16GB version would be easier to deal with, but that's not an option in Canada.

b) The reviews of the camera have not been thrilling; for both my wife and I, the camera is key feature of the phone.

I understand that both of those features (storage and camera) are the sacrifice for having a $200 phone.

As for the S6, a quick trip through their AC forum will tell you that it's prone to just as many issues (albeit different issues) as the G4.

I have NO issues of any type on my phone. Everything works as it should. As for the S6, no way unless it's the Active. The regular one's battery is crappy and the phone is now made as delicate as the iPhone (not a good thing). The S6 Active however is definitely a keeper.

I never said I was going to. I was just looking for opinions. I know a lot of former Samsung fans, myself included, skipped the S6 due to the dismal battery they put in it. So with that being equal now on the S6E+ I just wanted to see if there was anyone planning on going back to Samsung. And I was more aiming the question toward the S6E+ not the Note 5, though they have basically the same specs.

As for why someone would switch? I think Samsung's displays have outdone LG and the G4 has had a lot of lag and touch sensitivity issues.

Actually, about 2-3 people ON This site have already received their phones Overnight , (HOW that happened is a mystery), and one of the poster's provided a screenshot of his battery time, AND Screen On Time, HE can last a WHOLE DAY, roughly it said 1D 7h; 6:35 Screen On Time.

1 poster commenting from two different forums is showing Impressive battery stats.

No. Always something better. Next phone or two after the S6 edge+ and note 5 will be better lol

G4 is still awesome.

I've had near that with my G4 a time or two. I can easily pull well over 24 hours, not quite 6 hours SOT but 4-5ish.

I'd suggest getting another device all together over any Samsung. I picked up the LG G4, and it's battery life is awesome and camera is great, too. If smaller size is more important, the Xperia Z3/Z4 are great options as they always perform well. If you want a bigger display, the Nexus 6 is there but battery life is not good, and it also lacks expandable storage - but it's a beauty of a phone. It really depends on what you're looking for. I always turned to the Note line for battery life (gone), storage (gone), and durability (could be gone? due to its new design). It just doesn't fit me any more. That's all right! I'm sure plenty of fools will be tricked into buying it for silly advances like MIMO in a phone (oh please). or Samsung's NEED for 4 GB to deal with their lack of interest in optimizing their UI and software.

For me, Samsung just sold me to another phone for another year AT LEAST. I mean, come on. There is NO need to lack SD and replaceable battery! The HTC HD2 did! Sony added an extra door for the memory! And now I'm seeing in a lot of other phones SD card + SIM card in one tray, which is fine! So... Samsung destroyed their note line for me. :P I'm on LG until something better comes around. I honestly think the LG G4 isn't a pretty phone... But it works damn well for me :)
