Critical bugs like not being able to make/receive calls? Calls dropping out and bluetooth not working? I don't recall critical issues like that being widespread and reported on by Android media at any point on the Android 12 release for Galaxy S21 or S22 or other phones.



If that was the case, then Google should have done the same, but we're 6 months into release and the phone is still substantially buggier than other phones who also have Android 12. Google built Android 12, they've had it on their phones longer than other manufacturers, it should be the device with the *least* issues.

Yeah, I was actually having my phone crash completely a couple of times a day. But they released about 4 updates in the first week and it fixed all of the issues that Android 12 caused. Meanwhile, Google took a month to even get one patch out and I'm pretty sure in the first two weeks of Android 12 on the S21 ultra I had more patches than the pixel 6 has had now lol.

I guess. You disable 5G which is a selling point of the phone. I mean why bother including it then if you have to cripple the phone, or turn off features to get "great" battery life? Seems kind of backwards to purchase a phone with specific features then turn them off and not use them.

I'm getting great battery life, 5G on all the time. I have Bluetooth off unless needed. Typically I get home at 60-70 percent and by bedtime 50-55 percent.

What would your typical screen use be? I can't muster more than 4hrs of SoT in a day now, when previous phones used to be able to go a day and a half with about 6hrs.

Probably 2-3 hours. I'm usually not on my phone much at work other than my lunch break. But based on my usage pattern I'm getting pretty similar battery life compared to my OnePlus 7 Pro.

It's not really a selling point of the phone as most all mid-range to higher end phones are coming with 5G whether you want it or not. And 5G isn't near as fast or readily available around the country as the companies would like you to think. It's just a way to sell more phones... and a forced way I might add, since you'd have to buy a low end budget phone if you DIDN'T want 5G.

Lots of folks are turning off 5G if they can, because it's slowing their phones down and unnecessarily draining their batteries. I didn't want 5G on my new phone because we don't have it reliably in my area, and my friends and family with it are having issues, but the phone I wanted didn't come without it, or I would have bought the 4g version. So it wasn't a selling point for me And in my area it'll be years before we get real, usable 5G... by the time we do, my current 5G phone will be long gone with the 5G I never wanted.

Everyone's use case is different... a selling point for one person may not be a selling point for another

Not quite 2 weeks in and my new pixel 6 Pro has been problem free and very impressive. Coming from a OnePlus 7 Pro that I was very happy with I'm missing the OnePlus UI a lot less and appreciating the pixel more. Call screening is awesome, given the amount of robo spam calls I used to get. It's speedy, nothing has stood out as a problem. I'm glad to say that I'm happy with this phone. Speaking of phone, the calls are extremely clear. Everything works no issues so far. Maybe I'm an isolated case, but I'm really liking the Pixel.

My experience has been very positive. So far I haven't had the urge to go back to my 7 Pro and that of itself speaks volumes considering how happy I was with my previous phone. I created this thread as a positive real life review of my personal experience in opposition to the many threads of "this doesn't work, that is messed up" I wanted to see others chime in saying that they are also just as happy as I am.

I'm mostly happy with my 6 Pro. If I had it to do over again, I would not get a screen with curved edges. Not a huge deal, but I do believe that you lose a little real estate with a curved screen. I wished that I wouldn't have gotten involved with the 12L Beta testing, only in that I have to wait until June for a stable release, so that I don't "have" to do a factory data reset to get out of the beta.

To address the earlier question about battery life and 5G -- I switched 5G back on for a day, and the battery ended the day in the mid 60s instead of the mid 70s. So yes, it does use more battery, but that's to be expected with 5G. I would still call mid 60s at the end of the day excellent battery life.
