So, how does the Optimus V stack up to other Android phones to you?

I like huawei they.have to cut corners somewhere to give the prepaid phones the subsidized feel

Sent from my Optimus V

This is more of an opinion thread, but here's the place to compare the Optimus V to the competition! How do you think it stacks up against all of the other variants of Android out there? In my opinion, it may not be the greatest spec'd phone out there, but I've owned multiple Android devices and it is easily near the top of my list!

In my opinion:

Who cares? It's $25 a month and it works. If you're willing to spend the $ for the competition then do it. The V is not a contender in the hardware wars...

The Triumph will not be $500, only an idiot would buy it at that price. Virgin has done lots of surveys as has the industry, the sweet spot for phones is $200. Straying too far from that, even on prepaid will not go over well.

As for Triumph being an upgrade, yes, in some ways it is, but if the build quality is terrible, how good is it?
I just dont see the phone being in the $200 dollar range. Both Moto and Huawaei have a track record of phone pricing and IF the phone is as good as people are hoping, then $200 is not a likely amount. Even if it hits for 200 bucks that makes me question the quality of the phone.

I said "IF the build quality is terrible", but based on what we are hearing, it may very well be similar to (or be) a Huawaei phone, a company who's quality has been criticized before.
Leslie I think the Triumph fanboi's are just trolling now. Wait and see what happens with the phone either launches for a lot more than expected or it ends up like all recent Moto android phones and tanks.

One of my friends at work is switching from his 4g to the OV, because there is no improvement in performance with 4g, and he feels he is wasting money on it.

I have a friend with a Evo shift 4G and wherever we go he never really has more than a half a MB of speed over my 3G.

but once 4g becomes bigger and the kinks get worked out it should be much faster.

for now, 3G is the way to go, espcially on a 25$ plan

I actually love this phone, the only downside is that the screen is rather smallish, especially comeing from an iphone 3gs. Other then that comepared to some of the others out there it holds it own.

Three things that will have to be meet in order for me to even bother buying a triumph.

1. No locked bootloader once I went to custom ROMs I can't go back to the horrible bloatware filled OS that comes with stock. Some may not care but I like my phone to run lean without a bunch of crap I will never use.

2. Can't be ridiculously expensive, not going to spend 300+ on an phone with a bigger screen faster processor and what have you, it defeats the purpose of prepaid.

3 pricing plan has to be the same, I'm not going to pay more for the exact same service I can get cheaper. Paying more for the same service just because its a better phone is just plain stupid.

True that. Honestly though, I'm a bit tired of the smallish screen on the OV... That's not to say that it isn't a snappy phone with great features. I just need something a little bit bigger, but like everyone else has said before, I won't be switching unless I know that the Triumph is a definite upgrade in more ways than one.

I completely agree.

The OV is a darn good deal really, especially since it's paid for.
The bigger screen and better camera would be nice, but not $300 nice.
