So how fun is it going to be getting all your contacts from a Pre to an Evo..

Since we're on the subject. Windows Mobile had a lot of contact info that I filled in since I forget things like children's names, birthdays, etc.
A lot of that was lost with WebOS, How does Android compare?

I went from the Pre to the Hero without issue. Just typed in my gmail email address and boom, it was done. Too Easy!

Option 1: cellbrite
Option 2: install patch on webos phone
Option 3: do it from a computer, gmail allows you to import vcards

One thing -- well, about the only thing -- that I still miss about the Pre is the unified contacts view. Android doesn't handle this well at all. I have 3 separate contacts entries for many of my contacts: Phone, Exchange, and Google. Android doesn't combine them all like Synergy does.

Why not just sync the Pre with Outlook, then Sync outlook with the Evo?

Thats what I did when moving from a Nokia Symbian phone :).

well if you have a gmail account and set your Pre to have it as the default account for your contacts, all your contacts would land on your Google account.
Once you get the Evo it should be as simple as entering your Google account information (like on the first boot set up on the Hero) and it should pull your contacts info with no problems, at least the Hero has no issues at all doing this and being that the Evo has the Sense UI i don't see it having any issues at all with this.

All I did was take all my contacts export them to google and it was very simple. I think anyone could do it if I did it.
