So I bought another one

I have the regular pixel 2, what was your deciding factor in returning the XL tks.

I really love the XL. But I am starting to see the burn in of the bottom buttons. It's super light and hard to see right now, but it's way to early for that. Somehow I doubt Google is going to warranty my XL every couple of months. I was going to watch it and then decide when the white shipped on the 15th, but they expedited my plan. I'll use both for a couple of days and return the loser.... probably the XL.

I'll come back and let you know.. I have to get used to the 16:9 screen again because I've been on 18:9 since it first came out

Let me play with it this weekend and come back. So far, I'm liking how light it is, and the stock Google keyboard is easier to type on than when it was a bigger screen.. that doesn't make sense to me but whatever.

I actually returned the pixel 2 xl and tried the regular pixel 2 for a week. I missed the amazing battery life and ordered another pixel 2 xl. The pixel 2 is a superb device but something about the 18:9 and the amazing battery life I missed badly lol.

I considered this but I'm buying the essential ph-1 for a second phone. Its unique and I love it! It's the best looking Android phone hands down and about the same size as the regular pixel with a 5.7" screen. It's not on pixel level for camera..ect but It will be a fun phone to tinker with and see how far it evolves with updates. It seems to be getting them regularly and has improved tremendously from what I read. At $499..too!? I'm not gonna lie, I just got the xl2 and if the ph-1 is stable and fast enough, I may send this puppy back. It's half the price and I don't use a camera much. Oh, I can also troll iPhone X users in Starbucks who thinks they are the only ones with a "bezel free" phone. Lol

The 2XL definitely has a bigger battery, but I've heard that battery life on the smaller Pixel 2 was still pretty good - what kind of battery experience did you get with your Pixel 2?

I was getting good battery around 5 hours sot. But nothing like the 2 xl. You can just use the thing hardcore and not worry about it. With the pixel camera capabilities your more prone to take more pictures and video which eats up battery life fast. With this thing being blazing fast you even use it more. The pixel 2 is a great phone but it doesn't use the size well. It's still a big phone and the 2xl is not much bigger.

I see what you're saying! Thank you for explaining! :)

I'm getting awesome battery life on my Pixel 2. I'm sure the 2XL gets better battery life, but the regular Pixel 2 is more than good enough for my needs. Between 6-7 hours SOT is what gsam projects (I never actually use that much in a day).

Awesome! Thanks for telling me! :)

Welcome to the dark side. ;)

Tell them it's an iPhone 11 prototype running a test build of Android. I've confused more than a few people with that one.

My thoughts thus far.

I don't know any of the issues people are having with the Pixel 2 (small) and I think that helps.

So far, I'm absolutely loving it. I the bezels oddly don't bother me at all. The battery isn't as good as the XL but I'm managing. I'm at around 17hours uptime with 4 hours screen time and 30% left.

Weird enough, I think I like this one better than the bigger one. It's much lighter and slides right into my pocket easily. Nothing else much to say, I used the transfer tool and it was awesome to see literally EVERYTHING download and install how it was on my XL. I think that the colors are a little better when comparing selfies, you can see my wife's color a lot better on this screen, other than that the screen on the XL never bothered me.. and as far as I'm concerned, it's a non-issue because Google just released an update. I thought I would miss the 18:9 aspect ratio, but as of now I never have since cracking open the mini-me version.

That's what I'm talking about! The pocketability and ease of use with one hand is where it's at. I like being able to take shots with one hand.

I bumped the Gboard size up to mid-tall, display size to larger and Nova icons to 130%. It's absolutely perfect.

Glad I went with the smaller of the two.

Yep smaller phones are just easier to carry , my major deciding factor in the regular Pixel 2 , today was good being able to pull the phone from my pocket and take good pictures.
Been happy with the other qualities to, flat screen ,Ect, colors are actually quite impressive on this phone.
Only a minor issue with Bluetooth that I can't answer the phone on my car and watch at the same time, so I just answer on my watch, when I'm not wearing that the car works fine, sure that'll be worked out in a update later.

I uped the font size and display size I'm totally comfortable with it now, easy to read

So I had a really great offer for a Pixel 2 today. Too good to pass up so I got one! Excited.
Currently I am monkeying around with a Pixel XL.
