download app from market called Phone Info. Then u can select CDMA (prl) Auto. This will lock 4G out.

easiest way is to download the "Phone Info" app. Open the app, go to "Phone Information" and change:

CDMA + LTE/EvDO auto

to

CDMA Auto (PRL)

That would do it. Calls use CDMA. Data uses EvDo or LTE. Technically, 3G and 4G LTE have nothing to do with making calls. That is until they perfect Voice over LTE (VoLTE) in the near future.
