Don't be so defensive. There is now plenty of first hand, albeit anecdotal evidence of the Nexus having signal problems where the RAZR doesn't. The only people bringing up the dBm statistics are Nexus owners. We're talking about total or near total loss of signal and dropped calls. These problems don't seem to be happening to near the same extent on the RAZR. In fact many (myself included) have noticed that the RAZR has the best reception of any phone they've owned. I doubt you'll find very many people saying that about the Nexus. There is more to this than the signal reporting discrepancy.

It reminds me of the old adage: If it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, chances are its a duck.

I own a nexus. There are issues, yes, but the signal itself is not the problem. (Which has been verified by people that actually know what they're talking about) There's something else going on with the nexus' radio stack.

well i own the nexus and the razr as well and i for one CANNOT wait to hear the excuses if the nexus is not fixed with a simple software update . what will be the excuse whenever it has to be admitted that it has a poor radio and thats as good as it gets . how many will actually come back and say this phone is mediocre in the radio and signal dept. im hoping its fixed with software cause i paid full retail . but I seriosly doubt it will ever be as good as the razr in making and recieving calls or data in a fringe area.

Look if I really want to I could get a GN. I have one line which I bought my tab on that is eligible for an upgrade. I have an upgrade coming in may. Stuff moves too fast. I aint gonna take a 300.00 gamble. Well right now Im not. I have learned to never say never............... :)

To me, being able to make phone calls and send and receive texts is paramount. Everything else is a bonus.

Let's face it, Samsung phones suck when it comes to the ability to get a signal. Why Google would ever go back to Samsung for this Nexus is beyond me. Here's to hoping that the next one is a Moto.

No. Not unless they fire Motorola's design team. Their phones have not had that sleek look that many people want.

Can we keep this thread clean for people who have questions or are looking for some answers? No seance in posting the same crap over and over again in every thread on the internet "I think its been 15 min since someone posted on the forums for lego.com hurry"

This thread is about me and about my experience with both phones in day to day use to help people decide on what phone they want. It's not a phone pissing match.

Yes thats what these forums are for so people can make an educated decision.

im sorry wasnt trying to derail your thread . i was just saying what was on my mind at the time . my apoligies.

Real world use might be another story... since we all dont have the luxury of being in great reception areas. And for some reason real world use keeps getting overlooked in all this...

And for the G Nex to put a higher priority on LTE readings was a mistake by Google and/or Samsung IMO. Since this is a phone first I would wanna know my phone reception readings...like every other Verizon LTE phone does. Until the time VoLTE comes out...please show me the phone reception readings....for my phone.

Fyi, volte already works on my razr in Memphis and little rock.

That's impossible. The volte spec hasn't even been approved yet, let alone rolled out.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding Volte. Is it talk and surf at the same time or using lte for voice instead of cdma? I was thinking of the first. If its the second, I thought vzw would always use cdma for voice anyway and would be discontinuing evdo when lte is running.

I'm not an expert on the subject but I believe the purpose of VoLTE is to give high definition call clarity that is currently not yet available. Currently LTE phones utilize CDMA (3G) to make voice calls.

No. VoLTE will replace CDMA and route voice calls over the LTE network using a VOIP-like solution. Its a fair ways away from being able to implemented.

i had the galaxy nexus and traded it in for the Razr....

i just wasn't impressed at all from samsung and this so called "flagship" device they did.... the build quality was mediocre the reception/data i got were just terrible it just wasn't all that i just LIKED ics not the phone

If anyone would stop and try the Rezound, they would see the BEST phone on Verizon. Battery life, screen, call quality........it's got the other three covered. Also the best camera. Read the reviews.

we got the rezound for my wife and so far i would agree that it has everything coverd that you say it does . i just dont care for sense . i tried it on my tbolt and it was ok but after getting my razr i realize how much i missed a somewhat stock android experience . if the camera was better on the razr it would be dang near perfect for me !

Coming from the Incredible for almost 2 years I swore off HTC phones forever. I dislike Sense since it's a battery and resource hog. Even when it's disabled there are portions of it that still exist, like the dialer.

I could live with all of that if HTC wasn't notoriously slow on fixing bugs and updating the OS. THAT I cannot live with. The camera isn't worth all of the other hassles.
