And in two years when the non-removable battery of the Pixel XL goes kaput?
What other options are there? Other than my 950XL (or most Win phones), and a few Motorola, and a (mostly) failed LG model, removable batteries seem to be going away.
I'm as dismayed as most, but you can see where OEMs are coming from, they don't know where/what the deal is with your aftermarket battery, if it's going to explode, burn up, or just fail after a few weeks, in which case many are also likely to blame them.
If there was an established "channel" for "certified" OEM replacement batteries, or similar, reasonably-priced, and a good way to prevent the knock-offs into the same channel, I bet they'd go back, but I don't see that happening, anytime soon?
My 6P was starting to show a bit of possible battery-age, but since I went to Beta4 of O, it's doing really well again, so that's handy anyway. It's definitely not "snappy" though, but then again I was just setting up an Axon 7 for our daughter, and it was much quicker (for good reasons).
As much as I'd like to have "alternatives" to an Pixel 2 XL (or very similar), I want OEM-level updates and the whole bit, it's the old software/hardware engineer in me, I don't want to get hung-out-to-dry by a random OEM or carrier who decides to stop updating because they're not selling any more of a device...
