90% approval rating so far...that's the best I've seen on one of these Polls. However, this poll is taken by phone fanatics... I don't think the general public has fully embraced the awesomeness of the droid. There was a poll on engadget about how many people were going to jump and the vast majority said they were happy with their current devices... I think the ad campaign needs to start targeting normal users. The iPhone commercials show the average user how much you can do with the phone and so far the droid commericals show asteroids crashing and confusing normal folks...

I'm not hating since I think the commercials are cool, I just think that normal users need some pushing.

I'm happy with my Droid. Once I get a better feel for the Android OS, I doubt I'd ever look back towards a Blackberry again.

Already returned mine tonight to Verizon and went back to the iphone. The exchange program is not ready for prime time- can't move items between folders, no ability to use signature.

For what it is worth, the 3G service from AT&T was close to 2MB, more than twice the 800kb from Verizon. Not impressed. Also very heavy.

You have got to be kidding me ..... Not even a day and you return the phone WOW , that proves nothing , and too heavy .... really ?

I am also considering taking it back -- but voted that I was taking it back.

I'm struggling w/ the PIM functions. That's my primary use for a phone. I've really become accustomed to Windows Mobile and the easy integration between Outlook and WM. I'm hoping I can figure it out; I do like the phone.

It is however, like someone else said, heavy. Its heavier than my brick of an i760.

I think it will just take some getting used to... I would say it's a good enough phone that it's worth at least test-driving it for a reasonable amount of time.

I just need to find a better way to organize contacts and set up reminders for calendar events, etc. and get them all displayed on my desktop (I guess via widgets.)

I also switched from an iPhone (well, technically, it was iPhone -> Pre (for about two weeks) -> Droid).

The iPhone is a great device, I don't think anyone is denying that. The Exchange integration may be better on the iPhone, but it took Apple quite a whle to get that right. Having said that, there are so many positives to the Droid, and the carrier coverage (Verizon is just so superior to both A&T and Sprint) that I can't imagine switching back.

On the other hand, I'm a tech consultant, so futzing around with a device is appealing to me.

Just seems odd that you would switch and in less than a day switch back - there had to be some reason you wanted to get out of the iPhone...I guess it wasn't enough of a driver?

In any case, I'm very impressed with the Droid so far. My small company switched to Google Apps for our collaboration years ago, and of course the integration experience there is top notch. Makes me wonder if this is part of Google's overall strategy for incursion of Apps into the enterprise...so clever, those Google folks.

The phone is working pretty good so far. I ran into a few issues that are kind of making me mad but I'm crossing my fingers that I will soon find solutions to therm. Other than those, I'm loving this phone. A couple of issues I'm having:

-when the screen dims, you cant seem to get is back without pushing the power button. In a call I'm afraid that the phone might power off or I will lose the call.
-cant seem to set up my exchange mail. (probably just me).
-facebook integration seems like it has intermittent problems. some of my contacts came right over, photo and all, while others didn't.
-when composing and txt, I wish you could tap on the to field and view your address book.
-The phone froze up two times last night when I was transferring music an photos to the SD carda. This happened after the cable was removed from the device. It seems that you have to do two things before removing the cable to avoid this:
a) go to notifications and tap the usb on the menu and then select undock or
whatever.
b) go into settings, select SD card and phone storage then select unmount SD
card for safe removal.
-the photo album interface seems slow.

Don't get me wrong. The device excels in many areas and the aforementioned issuses may be something that I am not doing wrong. The list of positives far outweigh the list of negatives.

AT&T's 3G network has always been faster than verizons, it's the coverage of verizon's 3G that is better than theirs.

i'm sure people would rather have a slightly slower network over a non-existent one

all i know is i went camping in the mountains a few months ago and not only did i have phone reception, it was a 3G data connection.
