So is it worth it?

Today I went into the Sprint store with my upgrade ready to be used and I was playing around the only two devices I even could look at were the Evo 4G and the Evo 3D. I'm getting the 4G for my sister because its more than what she will ever need and I want the Evo 3D for myself because I feel like the 4G is going to be old technology soon and I'm always about the latest and greatest. I've been watching this forum over the past week and have been seeing lots of ups and downs on opinions; but many more that have been positives. So where do you stand? Are you glad you made the plunge or would you rather have the Evo 4g?

I have upgraded from the EVO 4G and I have no regrets at all.

Everything is better on the new 3D. Speed, screen, software, battery life. The qHD screen is really nice. Text is so sharp on it.

The 4G has a first gen snapdragon, it's ok but is it even gonna get the next release of android? The 3D has much higher chances of that happening!

Thats why I've been considering the 3D even more so than the 4G. I have to get a phone this week and I hate motorola phones and every samsung phone I have had has been God awful. Hopefully taking this plunge works out well. I know there of course is a few lemons that people have gotten but it seems everyones overall experience is quite nice.

The "Is it worth it" question is only valid if you already have a 4G. If you have neither, why would you even consider the 4G?

Over 2 years the price difference is 2 bucks a month and you'll get more use out of it due to the updated tech.

I have no regrets either on my upgrade to the 3d from the 4g. It is an amazing and powerful smartphone. But it is going to depend on who you talk to. Deoending on what one individual uses can be different then another, same with expectations could determine if it was worth it or not.

Sent from my 3D EVOlution

Just do it, I don't think you'll regret it! :D The *only* thing I've found is the 3G/wifi is a little weaker than my 2yr old Pre, which was one of the only things it did well.. You have 30 days to return it, how could you lose? If you want to check for dead pixels before you sign on the dotted line here is a Screen Tester, just tap screen and it changes from Blk-W-R-Gr- Bl. Good luck! :)

It's a meh for me. While it definitely runs faster than my 4g, it's usually not that noticeable (i was running cm7 on the 4g). I do think the battery life is a little better.

If you are happy with the 4g and don't have to have the latest, I would worry too much about upgrading.

totally worth it...but i think you should get your sister the 3d too its only 100 bucks more and she will be set...i dont think the og evo will get ice cream sammich...but the 3d will, if it doesnt i will take out my paintball gun and shoot myself in the nuts (ouch that would hurt)

Me and my sister have had the same phone for the past 2 years. I literally used mine so much it system overloaded 12 times, had the phone replaced every time. She is just now turning 15 and shes not going to have a phone for the next 6 months at least because she got grounded were just upgrading now her line so she doesn't loose it. AKA She will get the phone after groundage. But she doesn't care anything about OS as long as she can surf, message, make phone calls, and video chat shes just fine. She has a laptop and an iPod Touch 4th Gen.

just buy the damn thing already, its all about the good, the bad and the ugly, but it is also beautiful.

Very worth it. I went from the IPhone to a BB Tour when I jumped to Sprint. Didn't go for the EVO 4G cause I wanted to wait on a EVO4G II. Well here it is on my desk. The 3D is a great device get it

Definitely worth it. Even though the EVO4G is a more than capable device for most people, it will be approaching its End-of-life very soon. So if money is not a huge issue, then I would definitely use this as an opportunity to get the latest and greatest.

Very much worth it. This phone is smokin'! I came from an EVO 4G, which I was very pleased with and now has a happy home with my husband. I am lovin' it...3D "gimmick" and all ;) I was one of those people who really didn't think I'd use the 3D much. Got the phone more for the other specs. Sense 3.0 is great imho, and I am also enjoying Gingerbread.

I upgraded from the sprint hero to the evo 3d and the speed of this phone is amazing. I found that I was using my hero more and more and less of my laptop and with the screen size of the 3d I'll probably just use my laptop for work stuff. Movies and jetflicks are much more enjoyable to watch on this screen.
They really give you the maximum amount of screen for the size of the phone.
With all the extras that this phone offers you can't go wrong.;)

It is a kick ass phone.... I dumped the
nexus s 4g for the EVO 3D. I do not regret it at all. The signal /reception is worlds better than the Nexus S 4G...

I was considering the Nexus S 4G before I got the EVO3D how do they compare?

Yea they do but I would advise you to get the otter box defender. No kick stand but you get the best protection from it.

I already bought the defender case no worries. It was the last one at the Sprint store and I figured I would go ahead and just get it in case I ended up getting the 3D. If Not I'll just return it. No big deal!
