so it's decision time

What Im worried about is that I have a week left until my 30 days is up. I put in for a replacement which in this case will undoubtedly not ship until the first or 2nd week in June going over my 30 days, Once I recieve it and play with it and see if it has problems... Would they then take it back and give me a refund since I had to wait a few weeks to get the device when I had 1 week left until my date was up?

According to their customer service rep. They said I'd be fine cause they'd document it.. but well see

Check with Verizon, but I think if you have had problems with your phone and exchange it, it extends the return period. I had to exchange my Storm 1 about 3 times to get a good device and I am pretty sure they extended the return period each time. Not 100% sure, but pretty sure.

imo, people who aren't pumped about this phone, are probably not the target audience for this phone. I'm not saying they won't enjoy it, I'm just saying this phone is a techy's dream machine.

I called and asked them about that and their answer was a big fat no.. Sorry, your screwed basically. :( IF they would have extended it I would give the Incredible a 2nd chance but since their not, Im getting my 570 bucks back. Sorry Verizon, you lost a customer due to your poor customer service. Especially for having paid full retail only to get nothing in return.. Hell with that.

I would call in and ask someone else. I could have sworn someone in another thread said they had the same issue but were told that they documented it and the return period would be extended.

I must be missing something here. The Verizon warranty says that any device returned due to a manufacturer's defect within 1 year of purchase will carry a 90 day warranty or the remainder of the existing warranty whichever is greater. If what you want to do is return the phone and cancel new service then I fully understand why they would not keep extending that. Either you want the device and are willing to go through a replacement to get one that works properly or you are not. Glad I don't have to make that decision as mine has performed as promised and far exceeded my expectations. Of course I must be in the good graces of the "cellphone g-ds". Never had any of the Storm 1 "issues" except RIMS rotten browser that brought about violent behavior and satanic ritual aimed at the manufacturer.

Let me try an better explain the situation for you. I have 1 week till my 30 day money back warranty with Verizon is up. I wanted to try an get a replacement since my current Inc. Is having issues and since their backed up on orders it will force me to wait at LEAST a week to get the replacement pushing my 30 days over. Once I get the replacement I do not have the option to take it back since its past the 30 days. Now, as a customer, its not MY fault their backed up hence I should be able to get the 30 day warranty extended to try the replacement for any issues before making the decision to return it.

With that said, I spoke with a manager at the nearest store questioning about this and they said 30 days is 30 days and can't extend it basically telling me I'm screwed. Now paying 570 dollars for a device that I can't try an get a replacement with some sort of guarantee of returning it is flatout highway robbery. Ridiculous and will loose my business of a customer of many years.

You will be better off with Sprint I think. I have found they will bend over backwards to make sure you are happy and don't jump ship. The Evo will be an equally amazing device, and don't listen to those that bash Sprints network since it is actually great and only second to Verizon, but closer now that they are rolling out 4G ;)

My roomate is already kicking himself that he didn't listen to me and go with Sprint instead of Verizon. He got the Droid when it came out but hates his high monthly bill compared to mine. We live in Seattle and both get great reception everywhere, and Seattle does have 4G. He also wants the Evo....bad....

I just held one in best buy. My Bro preorder it but I'm gonna pass.
