So, let's talk for a moment about what Samsung got right with this phone.

I agree with all your point except for battery. Under normal have battery life is amazing but standby time is very poor

My S8 only feels a little warm when I pick it up from the wireless charger and it's not fully charged, ie it was in the process of fast charging. It has never felt even slightly warm, even when playing a CPU and cell-transmission intensive game.

I also have yet to put it on power save mode and the battery life is fine. Not awesome, but fine.

I've played with the S8+ for a bit and I really like it.

I personally think Samsung made a worthy successor to the S7 line with the S8 and I have no doubt that it'll go on to be very successful.

I only have 2 minor gripes with it. The fingerprint sensor is a little tricky to get used to for the first few tries but if you have big hands like me, it's not too hard to get used to it (although I still think it's a tad too high for those with smaller hands) and the Bixby button doesn't seem to fire up Bixby in a consistent manner. Sometimes it does but sometimes it doesn't.

Though honestly, I still wished I still had the Note 7 and that it never went up in smoke. I loved that phone a ton. Then again, it's probably for the better since it did bring attention to the volatility of lithium batteries.

Have you checked to see if any apps are keeping the device awake?

Apps that constantly hunt for notifications can keep the device's CPU awake, preventing it from going into a deep sleep state.

Mine never gets hot. Curious to see what it does with the vr, every phone seems to get hot using it with the vr.
I've used my S8+ for hours in VR, watched movies, played intensive games. No overheating, only feels slightly warm.

Just for kicks I tried my old S6 edge it overheated and stopped just barely 5 minutes into "Smash Hit" and 20% battery gone. And yes it was HOT.

- Accidental touches- Seems all but fixed on the S8. I occasionally launch the camera when I take the phone out of my pockets, but this shouldn't be overlooked either as I have seen many non owners continue to site this as a weakness with curved phones.

I don't believe so... trying to find info but I believe S8 preorder numbers may have exceeded the S7s numbers.

But I believe the announcement was that 5-7.5 million S8s sold in first 30 days.

I believe S7 sold closer to 10 million it's first 30 days?

Last I heard they surpassed the s7 and S7Edge sales

Design. Exterior and Interior.

I'm sure it's only because I have both so I kept the S8 stock and S8+ my usual set up with Nova Prime, etc.

I hate to mention this but the work Samsung did with TouchWiz is night and day when comparing to LG G6. I love the Hardware but I couldn't wait to load Nova. LOL

Rejoice. I read earlier today that a refurbished note 7 may be on sale in the US soon. I don't know when but I definitely read that today. They said it will be the note 7R I think. Think it said $500 or less too.

Google Samsung note 7, the articles have been saying that the will not go to US. Right now the market seems to be in Korea and China.

Overall perfect phone for me but i did uncover some issues : sometimes i press the power and the phone won't turn the screen on (not a con just annoying imo) i did managed to make the phone go hot a bit after about 30 mins of playing emulators but nothing major slightly warm to touch that's all (i kinda imagine the current heat in my city dosen't help either). There is just that small bit of lag from time to time but if i ever get annoyed by it i have my nova prime ready in case i need it but i kinda like the default interface tbh .

Love mine so far. I have Had just a couple small things. One it did get warm once when charging off a power bank. Not again since though. Today I tried to send a few screenshot photos to a few contacts and they sat with the spinning circle for like 8 minutes. Seems fine now. I contemplated restore to factory and start it over but resisted. Lol. Has been nice and glitch free. I haven't seen any lag that was noticeable. Nothing like the 7edge had

Also, the Galaxy S8 will officially support Google Daydream via an OTA coming later.

Not a big deal if you use the Gear VR but it's nice to have the platform choice, and since I own the Daydream View, that makes it more appealing to me.

Oh. I love the

Here in my opinion is what Samsung got right with the s8. As a lot of other people have said on the forum, with a 3000 MAH battery, the phone is incredibly powerful and long lasting! On my personal usage I get an easy day-of usage out of the phone ! With that being said ,With the snapdragon 835 CPU for user and performances buttery smooth as it should be the screen as my 2nd favorite aspect of the phone. Between pictures, applications, videos, anything you do on the phone looks painted on the screen. It is such a beautiful and wonderful screen! And you can actually see the screen in direct sunlight which is a first for me and smartphone world!

The only challenge now is to make a beautiful phone that's not slippery.
I think that's the next key development. The Note 4 had a rubberized plastic back that, along with the sharper edges, made the phone stick to your hand. It was a real pleasure to hold.
I don't use a case with my S8 and have sort of trained myself to hold on tight and always be careful, but I can't shake the nagging sense that I'm holding a greased watermelon.

Lol I was the same way with the Xperia Z3 back when I had it. No case but don't come near me, holding with two hands type thing. Ha.

Loving mine as well. Favorite part is the design of the hardware, minus fingerprint sensor of course. Can't stop looking at the beautiful display. I installed a dbrand skin on the back, the black dragon one, and makes it so much better. Plus, no fingerprints and oils on the back glass is a plus too.

I hope eventually we can get Google lens support on this phone

Google Lens will definitely be supported.

Any Android/iOS with the Assistant (basically running Android Marshmallow at least) will have the real-time feature, while the part where it scans photos already taken will be part of Google Photos.

I may be wrong simply because I've read about Google Lens just once but isn't this what Samsung Bixby is supposed to be doing natively on our phones? I'm just asking because it's funny to me reading all the comments at the end of that article I read of people praising this new technology from Google but the general consensus for Samsung's Bixby is pure hate for it. I know that the dedicated button plays big part for it, but people across the web has just declared Bixby a failure without even given it a fair try first.

I'm neutral right now, as I have used it a couple of times and it looks nice, obviously Samsung should have allowed 2 things, first, the button re-mapping for those that simply don't want to use it, and second, to be d*mn fully ready when the phone was released, but now with Google's announcement of their Lens technology I'm wondering if people will give Samsung a better chance to try their idea, after all, they released it first, well kind of...
