Question Touch Screen / Ghost Touch Issues - Input Lag, Unresponsive Back Button

Hello everyone,

I'm having a serious issue with my Huawei Y6 Prime that makes the phone almost unusable. It seems to be a touch screen problem. I'm hoping someone here can help me diagnose or fix it.

The Problems:

1. Input Lag/Ghosting: When I type, the phone registers multiple touches for a single press. For example, typing "Phone" produces something like "pppphhhooooooonee".
2. Unresponsive UI: The back button does not work at all. I cannot close apps.
3. Erratic Touch Response: When scrolling in apps like YouTube, the touch input is misinterpreted. It randomly selects videos I didn't click on and scrolling is very jumpy.

What I've Already Tried:

• Restarted the phone multiple times.
• Scanned with antivirus and anti-malware apps (no threats found).
• Cleared the browser history and cookies.
• Checked for software updates (my phone is up to date).

None of these steps have made any difference. The problem persists across all apps and the home screen.

• Model: Huawei Y6 Prime

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this a known software bug, or could it be a failing hardware component like the digitizer?

Thanks. I tried Safe Mode too but the problem still persists.

If you have a screen protector on, take it off.

Otherwise, you'd probably have to take it to a repair shop to replace the screen. The age of the device probably makes that not worth the cost.
