You read that right.

I woke up this morning and grabbed my Xoom off the nightstand to check some things on the 'net and it wouldn't turn on. Mind you, I never turned it off and it was plugged in with a Green (full) charging light. I press the power button and nothing happens.

I press and hold vol up + power and nothing happens.

Any more ideas before I exchange it at the Verizon store this morning?

Nope! Good luck, and let us know how it works out. I would be freaking out if this happened to me.

You could always trying plugging it into the computer, see if that does anything. Maybe go about the rooting method.

It's too new to have to try and mess around with "issues". Just take it back and exchange it. As much as it sucks to get one, there are always a few duds floating around.

Let us know how it goes.

They replaced it without issue, luckily. Hope it doesn't happen to anyone else!

Glad you're back in business. After all, you are maintaining my favorite thread on the internet now with the Honeycomb optimized apps! Bizarre still, hope it is an isolated incident.

Glad they replaced it for you. My Droid X had to be replaced 2X within the first week. Verizon was very cool with it. Unfortunately, they sold out on day one, so I had to have it shipped to me each time, but even though they were not shipping out orders for weeks, they shipped both replacements the same day they were requested, overnight. With anything mass produced these days, there will always be a few lemons. Fortunately, Verizon is good about replacements.

It happened to me too. they just replaced but mentioned that if it was later in the month i would have been stuck with a brick and to follow up with motorola since it's coverd by them for a year... I wonder if I should purchase the insurance now that this has happened

I'm glad you were able to get it replaced, but I have to ask: Where is the battery charging light on the Xoom? I plug it in each night before I go to sleep, with power levels varying from 14% to 50% based on how much I used it that day. When I wake up and touch the screen it reports "Fully Charged", but I've never seen a green light...

You will only see the light if your Xoom is powered off. The light is that little dot just above the usb port and below the screen.

Thanks. I've never charged it when it was off, so that explains that. :)
