Ive watch plenty of review videos, and I feel I may have to get one but there's a voice in me saying don't

I have that same voice every time I want to buy a phone or computer part. I never listen to that voice.
:)

Phones are like burgers, you can watch all the media you want, but until you sink your teeth into it, you have no idea how it tastes.

It's funny , people hate things on apple and people buy them , then you have people hate things on pixel but they buy them also.
They both suck at base storage and price at release. But I'll own both always

I'm likely preordering the XL. The 90Hz refresh rate, to me, makes it worth upgrading to.

I just wish Google could do and offer more. It'd be nice if they could come close to the iPhone 11 Pro's battery life, for example.

I don't know the 11 pro battery life but I'm sure the pixel will get a day for battery , if my pixel 3a can get a day and 7 hrs sot with 3000mah battery the newer one will no sweat ... I do wish also they could bump up those specs and starting storage but it's not going be a deciding factor for me , I like the Google experience .
I think they going be King in the camera department again , hope they don't lose squeeze like that feature.

I hope so. The competition -- namely Apple -- has significantly closed the gap to Google's computational photography and night modes. The verdict is still out on whether Google's closed the gap with video recording.

The rumored ability to take quality pictures of night time skies and stars is a nice new feature, but I don't know if it'll be as useful and meaningful as, say, an ultra-wide angled lens.

I sincerely hope Google has more up their sleeve...

How do you find the display ?

I may have to get one and try it out, and then decide ! I can live without customisations, its not a huge deal breaker.

Honestly it's very very good. Now I had the Note 9, and I wouldn't go so far as to say it's better than that, but still it's really great to my eyes. I've kept the "true tone" on, which makes it a bit less blue and I am starting to prefer it that way now. I'm quite happy with most things so far.

Apple did really good this year with bump in battery, more features to iOS and camera department ..don't like the rear camera set up but everyone has different opinions. But overall they did great!

A few notes on the iphones (I've had several over the years)
The battery life is greatly dependent on the individual phone. I've had some that the batteries last forever, and others that can't seem to stay charged.
Also depends on how often you update, how many background apps are open (be careful about this one! They can pile up without you even noticing - make sure to clear out the open apps every few days! they can suck your battery life quick!)

But good for you for trying something new. From my experience, iphone lovers will never switch to Android, and the Androiders will never switch to iPhone - so yay for breaking the mold!

According to some articles closing background apps on the iPhone doesn’t actually do anything in terms of battery life.

It depends on what the apps are doing in the background. If they are sitting in RAM no extra juice is used because RAM is always on anyway.

In a couple of weeks we can begin the "Pixel 4 Pre/Post Order Where's my Phone" brigade of posts. Let the good times roll.
Yup you know it! The N10/10+ managed 4k posts by the time the phones shipped. Don't think Pixel can top that but who knows.

I doubt it will too. 79% of those posts were off topic, but fun posts. We'll find out if Pixel People are as much fun as Sammy Souls.

Meh. I had an iPhone XS Max so the iPhone 11 Pro Max didn't seem much like a big deal to me. It still doesn't seem like that cool of a device.
