So, to get or not to get?

Hi all-
I've been a loyal Samsung user since the GS3, now on the GS5 (skipped the 6 because I refused to buy a phone in which I cannot put an SD card, let alone a new battery). Coming from the S5, I don't want the smaller screen of the S7, and The S7 Edge gets great reviews across the interwebs, but on forums, I find plenty of complaints and enough unhappiness to make me wonder if I should move up. On T-Mobile (great carrier, for me) my portion of the monthly hit would go from $19 to $30 over 24 mos. That's not a deal killer, but it does give me pause. Right now they have some deal where the "down payment" is reduced to $10 (from $70!), so if I were to make the jump, now would be the time. My only other real option is to go with another handset that takes an SD card, and there are damn few of them. So, any thoughts would be appreciated. Would you buy it again? Any lingering regrets? I realize I'm posting this on the Edge forum, so perspectives, may be skewed; still, users should know the phone and hopefully be able to provide an objective opinion. Many thanks.

I've had mine for a month and I have had zero problems with the phone itself.

Moving from a Galaxy S4 with crappy coverage with my last provider, I have easily double the battery life with the S7E and my new provider.

Well, entirely your call here. I've had the galaxy devices from S2 through to my current S7 and never had a scrap of bother with any of them. But like you say, plenty of others have. If you look at the number of devices out there being used with no issues at all ...
And a lot of the faults are user caused, ppl do stuff they shouldn't and they get into trouble.
I've never had an edge device but the flat ones I've owned have just got better and better each model. Can't wait for the S8!
That's just one opinion, I'm guessing you will get a few more..good luck with whatever you choose in the end

I jumped from the Note 4 to the S7E and couldn't be happier with it. LTE reception performance is significantly better. Only regret is that I didn't change sooner (though my Sprint plan was a major factor). Of course you're going to see lots of issues on forums - that's just the nature of the beast. Every forum for every kind of device (smartphones, computers, tablets, cameras, etc) is loaded with post on issues. After reading them you feel as if every device out there is fatally flawed.

I've had my Galaxy G7e for a few months now... It is, hands down, the best cell phone I've ever owned.

I love this thing. 😉

I did drop it pretty hard, cracking the screen... As I have insurance, I choose to get a new one... Went with the new blue one....

It's freaking gorgeous... 😍

Everyone's idea of a good phone phone is somewhat subjective. Although I think the S7 edge is a great phone, it's not perfect. I read the reviews and comments and made the decision that was best for me. Given a choice, I'd I buy the S7 edge again.

I have the S7 edge, but only because of the recalled Note 7 debacle I went through twice. That said, this phone can keep up with everything I do and has a great camera as well. You may want to wait and see the S8 as it will be announced pretty soon-rumored specs are coming out and it sounds pretty cool.

If you are looking for an Android phone with SD storage, S7E is the best phone available at this point in time. Not perfect, but nothing is better at the moment.

Definitely get it! The S7 edge was my pick as the best Android phone of 2016, and with good reason. It's got IP68 rating, awesome cameras (especially in low light!), amazing build quality, microSD card slot, wireless charging, and TW has gotten lighter.

I just purchased an unlocked S7 edge at Best Buy for less than $700 and I'll be using it as my daily driver!

I've had my S7E since June, and it's hands down the best smartphone I've ever owned. I've had the HTC thunderbolt, galaxy S4, galaxy note 4, and now the S7 edge. However, it does have its flaws...OK only one that I can speak of. Without a case , it's super slippery. I know three people who dropped it , without a case and ended up with partial spider webbing on the part that hit the ground. It still worked fine, but it's super fragile without a case. Other than that, I'll rank this with any newer phone on the market.

I had my first s7e on att. They decided to play games with the bill so I switched to Verizon in August. I bought the s7e a second time.

For me it's great. It lags a little compared to my pixel but not so much so where it hurts the experience.

I prefer my s7e to my pixel xl. The screen is much better and I love the way the s7e feels without a case. I also love some of the additions Samsung puts on top of Android.

Exactly the same here :)

I had a Note 4, and was waiting for the Note 7, but after the whole debacle I went with the S7 Edge and could not be happier.

With the S7 Edge being the highest selling Android since it's launch its bound to have more complaints than any other Android.

The S7 Edge is up to this day the best all round Android smartphone, all its competitors are missing something it has, be it IP68 Water and Dust Resistance, or no 2K display, no MicroSD, or fall behind in Camera.

With the S7 Edge you get a full package:
Huge 3600mah battery with great battery life
2K SUPERAMOLED Display
MicroSD Support
The best Camera around
Compact design
IP68 Dust and Water Resistance
Feature packed UI
Great front facing Finger Print Scanner
Great VR support

Regarding the OP's mention of many complaints...
Well, if you are visiting the S7/S7E forums, of course you will see some complaints. With every phone there are bad ones and people that just have bad experiences. For the most part, I think this phone is a lot lower than most in the complaint department. If you're thinking of another phone, go research those and you'll see plenty of complaints. It goes with the territory.
You need to just take the information that's out there and make up your own mind.

I switch apple to android every other phone like both ecosystems. Was time to go android so got the note 7 2x loved it without a doubt best phone i've ever messed with but after recall got s7 edge an honestly I feel its the closest to it. I have no issues with mine its a pleasure to use an will be better with nougat update I say play with one an decide for yourself. Let us know what you decide.
