So what DON'T you like about the GS3?

.

I'm having trouble with the snooze feature on the clock, the snooze never goes off and has caused me to be late for work more than once.

I had this same problem, you have to actually TELL it how many snoozes and time between, make sure you hit SAVE in the upper right corner. Unlike other menu options, this doesn't save when you hit back.

Things I hate!!!

1. I should be able to adjust my brightness from anywhere on the device. Why is it not in the drop notification bar?
2. There is an awkward spacing between widgets and apps on the main screens. They should be closer with less space.
3. Why didn't they keep ics folders ? The new folders suck
4. Why does it take so long for the task manager to come up after holding home?
5. Why isn't dictation built directly into the keyboard ?
6. Why do games like asphalt 7 , nova3, and spiderman play like crap on the s4 chip
7. Why is there no easy way to edit and enhance video and pictures.
8. Why is there cracking around the plastic back of my phone.
9. Why when I hit gps from the drop menu it doesnt turn on all 3 tabs. I always have to exit and turn those on.
10. Where are the rest of ics wallpapers and live wallpapers from the past
11. S voice is not great
12. The led light acts weird sometimes it stays on all day for a random notification.
13. Gps Won't lock sometimes.
14. No textile option for turning on hotspot
15. Needs to be more ics /jelly bean looking. Keep all the extra features added and give it more of a jellybean styling with lighter touchwiz accents. Hopefully this will be considered when we finally get the jelly bean update. hopefully with enhanced project butter features.

I don't like the location of the USB plug on the bottom of the phone.

I don't care for the stock keyboard, I find the height of the keys too short for my portly fingers.

The ring tone selcetion is terrible, not one tone is an actual ring tone, all are wierd music garbage that is hard to hear especially when there is background noise. To be blunt the ringtones are just GAY!!!

u can use any mp3 file as a ringtone. if dont want music, try the Zedge app for ring and alert tones

Email app is the worst ever. You figured by now they would have gotten it right.

Searching pics in Google search within browser is awful and buggy. It's sad that Apple can do Google pics flawless. I hope Samsung and Google fix this.

Those are the two most embarrassing things to have.

I actually like it being on bottom rather than on top like it was with my Captivate. I used the keyboard and realized why people were complaining and just had it long enough to install SwiftKey.

I agree with the sounds especially for notifications. I just want a short sounds to be able to tell what notification it was instead of the nature sounds. Anyone have a suggestion where to get the notification sounds that were on other Android phones?

I think people are saying it because the screen isn't fairing that well.

To be honest, I didn't look it up recently to see if it does. I just know that having the phone roughly a month, and using it the same way as my DINC, the screen has more scratches and blemishes. I had a day 1 DINC, that the screen, outside of one scratch, looked brand new after ~2.5 years with no protector ever.

If it does have Gorilla glass, then my home town company really let me down.

Good to know. I had both Incredibles and never got a single scratch on either so I guess I'll have to be extra careful with this one because I hate screen protectors.

Does anyone have any recommendations on screen protectors? I just hate it when I am constantly reminded I have one on the phone which is why I don't use them.

Wow, lots of issues with this phone! I was thinking of getting it instead of the iPhone I have now but never mind now.

Nope, none of the (available) third party e-mail or web browsers address my complaints. The app stutter is a Touchwiz issue so you'd need to flash a different ROM to get rid of it.

Actually, that's not true about having to flash a custom ROM. You can easily replace the launcher with one from Google Play Store. I'm running Nova Launcher right now. They have a free version, and a $3 version (which just gives you more customization options). It's very fast, and looks practically identical to the vanilla Android launcher.

And there's tons of other launchers out there, too. I used to run GoLauncherEX for a while. That one was great, too, and it's free. Just hit the Play Store, search "Launcher" and you'll find plenty. There's even some 3D launchers out there to play with :)

So that's actually one of the drawbacks of threads like these. Don't let this thread sway you from buying the phone. It'a GREAT phone but there are nuances of any phone that will drive some nuts while others couldn't care less. Go get your hands on it and try it out. See if it does what you need. I would highly recommend the phone.

remember most of these "issues" are about stock apps on the phone which can easily be fixed with free alternatives

I find the back capacitive button to be poorly placed for one handed use, and too often brush the screen (particularly annoying when it clicks through an ad).

The voice quality is noticeably inferior to my old DROID X. However, the GS3 WiFi is much better, and the GPS locks within seconds, so better here on both fronts. Data seems to drop less often on the GS3 as well, and the transition from 3g/LTE to WiFi seems smoother.

Touchwiz. Ugg. I didn't last long with it.

That's the best I can do. I *really* like this phone.

Sent from my GS3.

whats the screen like on the Resound mate?

I'm sure it's not as nice as the GS3 screen. It is definitely hard to read when you're outdoors in bright sunlight. But, other than the trouble with being in bright sunlight, it works just fine for me. I don't watch movies on it or play many games, though.

cool u prob made right choice then mate. s3 screen is terrible in direct sun too :)

the email widget doesn't display incoming email...unless you're connection is quick, on wifi. That, or you go into your email through the email's icon application to see all the email that came in. I think blackberry might have the best email though.

The calendar widget glitches as well. Too often. It's like when you watch VHS and you get the magical white lines that sway a picture in a direction.

The YouTube widget...why did they remove the search option? Now you have to watch a video before you can do your search.

The text message application.. Texts have pluralized while scrolling..how can i explain this..? H m m m..the when you scroll down the text messaging list, the names will stay, but an overlay with the names will scroll down..so you're seeing double

Swype. Or lack there of. I had to download an earlier version that isn't nearly as good a the one on the galaxy s2. (nit picking)

Motion controls, for me, the one that zooms internet pages in and out, works sporadically.

The screen isn't that bright as the s2(I'm nit picking)

The volume button is a bit too low sitting on the phone, and it is pressed to easily. (nit picking)

The scrolling of the widgets on the pull down notifications. I don't want it to scroll left, then i have to move it right to get it out of airplane mode. (nit picking)

The new way to select an alternate keyboard (nit picking)

The home button. Jeez Louise.. why is it so small? They should have made it larger and rectangular. It does feel like it'll break soon..but I'll give it benefit of doubt..

Can't complain about bloatware because it is what it is...don't use it.

not knowing how to update the weather manually...the Yahoo weather you see when you turn the phone on..

Internet...Samsung's internet browser sucks. Some sites can't load the full website. And forcing it through "request desktop site" fails. Then the ones that pull up the full sites, when you press something, it'll turn to the mobile site for that page.

My screen has flickered. An issue because a YouTube video is out about someone's screen flickering (it could be my glitchy calendar widget) uncontrollably and I'm worried if it'll happen to me. My screen didn't flicker as bad as the s3 in the video though

When using the stock headphones, people have complained about crackling in the phone.. And MAYBE while I'm on 3g or wifi, it affects the call quality...not sure though

I didn't expect much from the smart stay, but i was a bit surprised at how handy it came in. Maybe it doesn't work as well because I'm African American decent? (nit picking, obviously, but i still put it as a con.)

Too glossy (nit picking)

Multiple steps to get back to the call screen when in a call.. (serious nit pick)

This one is a big one for me... only certain applications allow you to access the clipboard. in everything else, long pressing gives you highlight, cut, paste only. This sucks because I'm always using my clipboard if i get, say,a text message from a friend and i want to copy a few things and paste it in my search bar. I don't want a third party application for a clipboard because the galaxy s2 enabled you to use the clipboard anytime, anywhere, regardless of application.

The speaker...it isn't bad AT ALL. It's just... Well, it doesn't have as much bass as the galaxy s 2. So it seems less powerful, but it's still loud for ringtones and listening to music.. It's not as bad as being compared to the evo to evo 3d speaker, cuz that was a big step down.. And too this day,i think Motorola had the best speakers in the game.

I plug my phone in the computer and i miss the s 2's option of charge only, connect to PC and whatever else was there.

The Good
I like that you can hide applications.

i like the physical home button than htc's dedicated capacitive. (i prefer physical buttons, and yes,i go miss keyboards)

Annnnnnnnnd, you can hold the "menu" button down until you have the ability to do a search or find, or open a url and type in awebsite if you're in a browser. H t c lacked that on the evo lte..or if there is a way,i didn't find it

The svdo chip enables you to talk while browsing 3g (also on the evo lte). I would've gotten the evo if the s3 didn't have it.

I like Samsung's touchwiz. It had faults, but it's not bogged down like htc. And my evo and evo 3d were too bogged. I'm not a rooter, so i want things to be superb out the box, like Marper said. Twiz is closer to stock Android

The phone is very light for its size. I prefer that cuz when in my pocket it doesn't sway my pants.

The radios. They are SUPERB. GPS is great! Signal strength is better than the s2 in my area, my wifi never cut off while in use (and *#0011# fixed the issue for me on finding signal). Using the *#, turning off the power save is equivalent to the evo lte's. I don't use Bluetooth because my ears are too small to balance any earpiece, lol. So i cant judge that feature

You can turn on an equalizer while in calls. And the option to use background noise control.

Removable battery. (reason why i didn't get the Evo as well.)

The capacitive buttons almost disappear..cool, but not a selling point for me.

Keis is damn handy. May not be too polished, but damn handy.

The battery lassts a long time compared to the s 2.

The stock music application...I saw someone complain... But, it's a stock application. I have Power Amp and it drains the battery more consistently so i use it less and use the stock more, until P A developers configure it better.

Ooh yeah,a direct way to control your data connection inn the pull-down... That's great!

For me, the good outweighs the bad. I'm satisfied.

Sorry for any misspellings, but I'm Swyping.

Forgot to add:

Bad
The picture search in the stock browser using Google... I used to be able to long press on a picture and copy it in my clipboard.. now, not so much. I don't know when this feature was removed. Maybe after the update a few days ago?

Screen turns on using the text application. Others have complained, but I'll add my .02? (incorrect character)

Good
I like that the text application is customizable though.
