So what options are there for us that need extended battery?

There are also some solar chargers available now. Great if you use GolfLogix on your Android.

that is epic win!!!! im so sick of whineasses and removable batterys lol i have a removable one in my evo and it never comes out?? :/

Good for you. Some of us use our phone a little more often and are not always near a charger, so not having a spare battery is not an option. And for those suggesting a different phone, what would you suggest, since the Sprint LTE lineup is still evolving? I have to have the ability to charge my phone on the go, and it has to have a micro SD card slot since I just upgraded to the 64GB micro SD card.

When I upgrade, it will be to an LTE phone, and depending on my choices, I may have to settle for the EVO LTE. Don't get me wrong, I love my 3D, the same way I loved my 4G, so I would prefer to stay with HTC, and honestly, until this thread was started, I didn't think it would still be an option, but the 9900mAh External Battery may be an option I can live with.

Thank you to the OP for starting this thread, and thank you to those with quality suggestions.

I sometimes go to events where I am not near a any place to plug in and charge the phone for almost 24_ hours. I hope, if I decide to get the new LTE Evo, that I dont regret not having a removable battery

I would like to see 3,000mah the minimum for non-removable batteries. The Razr Maxx has set the bar on this, really disappointed HTC didn't follow suit. Honestly if the Evo LTE had one that big it would be no contest. At this point if you want 2012 technology either wait to see what the Galaxy S3 has to offer later this year or jump on the Evo LTE. Galaxy nexus is 2011 technology and will probably feel slow by time a 2 year contract is up.

Wanted to put in my $0.02. I've been using the OG Evo for the past 2 years and after the first week I had already purchased a Seidio extended battery 3500mAh. I enjoyed that I would have moderate use and still be at around 70% at the end of the day (this is prior to 4G being available in the bay area). First few months was stock and then I started playing around with roms, finally sticking to Cyanogenmod with v6 and enjoyed my battery ending the day at around 80%.

After dropping my phone one too many times, it's reached the point that the battery backing no longer stays on the phone so I've had to switch back to the original 1500mAh battery. It was quite a transition - it's scary to see the battery level dip to red before I'm even home at the end of the day. Gah!!! It's been a few weeks and I'm gradually getting used to it. I've found that the best solution is to get used to keeping the phone plugged in during the day. Part of my job involves travel so I have borrowed my girlfriend's external battery and stuffed it in my briefcase. Basically I rigged it so that I plug my phone in when it is in the suitcase and it recharges off of the battery. Still not the ideal solution and I miss my extended battery.

I think a lot of it is a mindset though. I don't like dipping below 50%, I find that to be alarming. Yet all of my friends and coworkers don't even concern themselves when they see the 15% battery alarm come up. Perhaps we're just greedy? :)

Edit: I guess I never got to my point - if the HTC EVO 4G LTE is similar in battery life to the HTC One X, I believe it will be a good compromise. I will still carry the battery pack with me for charging, but I don't think I will have the alarm bells ringing if I can make it to the end of the day with 30% or so remaining.
