I have looked around but not finding the answer, I would like to know what is the best WiFi hotspot app for the non rooted Rezound? At this time I do not want to root.

Thanks!

I assume you meant NON ROOTED. When you say "Wifi/wired tether", is that the name of an app or are you just generalizing? I can use PDAnet if there are no other options I guess. I would prefer wifi tether if possible.

I have been reading all over and must have gotten confused with a different phone because I was thinking it could be done for non root.

Thanks for the reply!

Dang, I actually read your OP incorrectly. The only hotspot app for a non-rooted phone is the one that comes on your phone. The only tethering app that ALWAYS works for non-rooted phones is PDAnet and that's USB tether. Koush also has a Cyanogentether or some such but I have zero experience with that. Basically put, wifi tether isn't an option if you're not rooted.

If you're referring to what his question was in regards to the Rezound, then yes, there are no non-root Wifi Tether options or apps.

But the way you generalized it by saying "wifi tether isn't an option if you're not rooted", is absolutely incorrect. For the Rezound there are not any options because HTC is stupid. But if someone reads your reply that owns a phone other than the Rezound, well you'll be feeding them false information. I currently happen to know of more than one non-root Wifi Tether apps available. With FoxFi being the very best if it works for your phone, and it does for a large number of non-rooted phones giving them full non-carrier Wifi tether. But sadly the developer cannot bypass the dumb as crap encryption that HTC has placed on many of their phone's hotspot feature. I know because I've emailed the developer, asking him why FoxFi will not work on my Rezound.

And as I said FoxFi is not the only app that accomplished non-root full wifi tether. If it weren't for my need to have a removable battery and storage, and I had known before I bought it that HTC were a-holes in locking this feature down, well needless to say I would have picked a different phone besides my Rezound. But personally, in the end for me it's more important to have a removable battery and storage, as opposed to buy these new iPhone-esque versions of phones that manufacturers are jumping on the money train bandwagon to sell you, all the while taking away options and selling them back to you at insane prices. That's all phones like different sizes of the Galaxy Nexus boil down to. They saw how customers had the option to buy an extended or spare battery, and use an old SD card or a few, or buy a new larger one, and saw how they could make even more money by selling you different sized phones, while taking away your freedom in being able to swap out old batteries or storage. Now your battery does and it's not under warranty to get repaired, well guess who is happy to sell you a brand new phone now? Where as in the past you could have just simply bought a new battery at the store. Anyone who can't see why manufacturers took away your freedom to swap battery and storage as what i just pointed out -well you are diluting yourself while the manufacturer gets richer and greedier at the expense of your options and freedoms with your phone.

FoxFi will work wirelessly via bluetooth. It works with my bluetooth enabled laptop but have not been able to make it work with my iPad.

I believe you have to buy an app called ibluever. Might even have to jailbreak your iPad because ibluever is a jailbreak app.
