You might have read the news. The Note 5 got announced, and in my opinion, it's absolute crap. Not excited at all for it. I think I'll stick with my Note 3 until a new, worthy phone (Samsung or not) gets announced.

Thoughts?

My Note 3 is in mint condition, has a fairly new Anker battery and a 64G SD card with little on it, has a nice Incipio case and tempered glass screen protector!
Why would I want to spend $700.
on a new phone and even more on accessories??
Besides, it makes and receives phone calls and messages just fine!! 😉👌

I agree with you. I'm Not impressed with the Note 5 either..... (no sd... No removable battery)...... I may just keep the Note 3 for another year.

I won't be getting the 5. I loved being able to carry a spare battery and have the expandable storage too. Since they changed that it's just not worth it to me. I had some recent business decisions to make so I picked up a MacBook pro to go with my iPad and will get the iphone 6s too.

I'm not! I'm instead waiting for my pre-ordered S6 Edge+. I have a 32 gb Note 3 that i've nowhere filled the memory on, and the built-in wireless charging allows me to use my charging pads at work and home without extra accessories. I do worry I'm going to miss my S-Pen though!

Really not sure yet. I think the battery size concern can be addressed in a few ways. If people invest in wireless charging and make a little effort to top it off on a regular basis it wouldn't be a problem.

The lack of SD card support though is a different matter. I had the original Note 1 and remember filling up the 2gb of app storage it had. There really is no substitute for expandable storage if needed. I have a wireless external drive which can help in some regards but not nearly all of them. The problem though is I have only needed that much storage a few times. So it certainly isn't a daily need for me. It is all about use case.

I may wait for the Note 6. As someone else mentioned my note 3 is in great condition and with a tempered glass screen protector, decent case, qi coil with NFC. Only thing really showing wear is the spend as some of the chrome is coming off the pen.

You can pickup a new S pen at Best Buy!

Lol. I couldn't care less about the chrome coming off. I look at that as a badge of how well I have used the pen. I was just using that as the only sign of wear.

Not upgrading my Note 3 bc no SD or removable battery. I'm pissed about that. Although it won't ruin my day.

What other options are out there if you want a stylus and the best specs (fast processor, 4GB RAM)?

I'm going to wait until my contract ends early next year. If nothing better comes along, I'll probably go with the Note 5 (64GB).

Not after seeing the price! Wow $792 for 64gb at Verizon! Do you remember what you paid for your note 3? I think I paid $300. I'm not seeing $492.00 worth of upgrades at all. Does anyone see $492 worth of upgrades?

Yeah I was going to grab the N5 from my N3 as I'm uncontracted for years on a VZW with a grandfathered UDP. Nice fast pricey device, played on one yesterday at VZ, though must admit battery didn't kill it for me: lack of storage did! 32/64GB only? WTH... Guess powers that be expect us all to be in the 'cloud'!? Is everybody still on a UDP plan or on TMo? LoL. Looking at N4s... Peace

So basically what happens if the battery on Note 5 dies? How can you change it if it's not removable?

Had the Moto Droid Razr Maxx with a 'welded' battery, and, the really only crappy part was if you were used to doing a battery pull to get out of a frozen or locked up system, it was easier; though there are mechanical combinations that you would push and hold like on a computer to force a restart. Am sure that'll be the way with Samsung's latest devices as well.
Really, my sense with non-removable batteries and cellular devices is: life expectancy, where the consumer must purchase another device or they carry insurance and contact them, pay their deductible and get a refurbished device when battery had end of life symptoms. Ah corporate Capitalism.... peace

Coincidentally, I just bought a VZW Note 3, on eBay, that is supposed to be new in box, with Jelly Bean, still on it.
I can't imagine moving away from a phone that can't be rooted, let alone one without an sd card and removable battery.

No SD Card, No swappable battery, No need for Note 5. Will stay with Note 3 until it dies.

Upgraded from an S5 to the Note5. Love it, no regrets at all.

Best screen and camera you can get. IMHO
