So who picked up the One S today? Thoughts?

the screen protector tmo sells

I'm not sold on protection for glass. I've never had a scratch on a glass display...yet. If you are tossing it in a purse, then it would probably be pretty important.

SwiftKey X keyboard is also pretty good. I didnt like the stock keyboard either.

Some type of sywipe trace is built in to the stock keyboard and running by default. Not in to that much though ...hurts my brain.

My husband purchased this phone for me on the 8th. I had a choice between the One S or the Samsung Galaxy S II. I really want the Galaxy S III but there's no word on whether TMobile will get it yet, and my previous phone was totally dead.

I love the phone, but there are three issues that are really bothering me about it.

1. The keyboard lacks the ability to add certain special characters, namely ™, ?, ?, ?. I actually use those symbols all of the time, and I can't find them anywhere on the keyboard (even the long hold keys). Also when you type in the words ala Swype, there is no space automatically injected so the words end up being a huge jumble unless you consciously add the space in with the teeny tiny spacebar.

2. The battery drains SO fast when using apps or reading news. I even have the screen brightness turned down really low to try and conserve some of it. My first full charge lasted all of 4 hours before it went totally dead.

3. I am getting some funky random rebooting going on.

Other than the three above, this phone is really a beautiful piece of technology. I love the phone and there's still time for me to go in and exchange it, and I'm hoping I don't have to do that but I'll be stopping in the Tmo store tomorrow to ask about the random reboot issue at least.

Re: the trade-in rebate, they gave me an envelope and an extra receipt, but I actually had to generate the voucher and shipping label myself online at the trade-in site. Have my old Cliq all packaged up though and ready to go to the post office in the morning, hopefully my $100 will come sooner rather than later. :)

OMG, you had the Cliq as well. My condolences, as you and I and only a few others know what the nightmare of that phone was like. It got to where the last factory reset I had to do would not allow me to get into Motoblur, nor would it let me create a new account, thereby rendering the phone unusable. I went in and showed them, and they offered me the $100 rebate, and that's how I ended up with the One S.

I actually did not mind the Cliq, I thought it was a solid piece of hardware for the time. I had very few glitches and did not mind MotoBlur. What I DID mind was how long they took with their freakin' updates, that was inexcusable, especially with the pace Android was updating at the time and the fact there were a substantial number of apps that only ran on 2.0 and up.
