Soft bricked - Motorola Droid Turbo

So Verizon sent me an update and my phone went into a boot loop and now it is soft bricked. I didn't even know what those terms were until 3 days ago. I can get it to go to the system recovery screen although nothing solves it, even a factory reset just reboots into the same boot loop. I can get it to fastboot (bootloader, not sure of the right terminology) same problem, the only thing that works is power off. My computer recognizes the phone when it is in this mode.

I went to a computer repair store, they knew less than I did and couldn't fix it. Verizon wants me to send back my perfectly good phone for a "reconditioned" phone, and the insurance plan won't touch it because the phone technically "isn't broken".

My question: Is there any way to reinstall the stock OS from an SD card?

And one caveat before you start ripping me up for not knowing the basics...I am trying to solve this on my own, learning a lot and I am a grandmother. So please be nice and just point me in the right direction.

Download RSDlite & firmware FXZ, phone into fastboot, plug into computer, open RSD, select firmware, opt decompress & install FXZ
