Soft Key Failure

[AC Question]

Hello. I am a new venture phone repair tech. and an iPhone user. I don't have much experience with android phones. I have recently repaired a number of galaxy phones and am having problems with the soft keys not functioning after a screen replacement. Anyone else having a problem like this?

What is the problem? Does the keyboard show up or no? Foes the bottom half of the screen work otherwise?

The two lower buttons on either side of the home button don't' work. The buttons light up on a couple of the phones but don't function. Am I damaging the cables some how when removing the screens? I am at a loss here.
