Software update GWK74 - Google Wallet

Updates do not come in apk form. they are not apps.

Rather they come in .zip for to load manually via recovery. If youre not rooted your best bet is to just sit tight and wait for it.

I meant zip, sorry. In any event I forced the last update after downloading the proper zip file and loading it through the bootloader. Not that big of a deal to do manual update. If anyone finds the zip file please post. I don't feel like waiting for the automatic update as it seems many of you feel the same way. Thanks!

Meaning that's all the ever happens. I think maybe it's for persons who don't have a previous update. Ie if you were to flash back to ship build you could do that and get what's been out now for a while. Not the new ones.

Are you rooted and stock or rooted with a different rom? Rooted with a different rom. Wait for your rom to update? Stock. Download the OTA and probably reflash SU.

I'm probably just going to wait on CM7. Just got a nightly update that hasn't random rebooted once with 1.4ghz overlock Netarchy. So, maybe if Visa was supported out of the box I'd go back to my stock rom but I'll wait. Maybe, with luck, the apk will work on the 2.3.5 build. Maybe... lol.

Edit: I just want to point out how I think it's funny that this time Google is telling us the update is here; and, last time Sprint posted the update on their site and pulled it and this time Sprint doesn't have it on there site.

Yeah, if I'm rooted I should probably know what that means, feel free to make fun of me!
I love the stock feel but wanted to be able tether my 4G and use screen capture!

With the OTA, doesn't it take you back to stock unrooted??? That was the fear when the game out with 2.3.5 and Chud here walked me through a download that kept everything so I'm wondering if some one is going to come out with the same.

Just applied this update and added my Citi card to Wallet. Can't wait to try this out, thanks!

For those of you looking to update but who don't know how, here are some instructions:

1. Download the file
2. Rename the file "Update.zip" so that it is easy to find
3. Move it to root of your phone?s internal storage.
4. Shut down and reboot into the bootloader by holding volume up and powering back on.
5. Use the volume buttons to choose ?recovery? from the list, and select it with the power button.
***6. When you see the triangle on your screen, hold power and then press volume up and you?ll have a list of options, choose the file to update***
7. Select the option to update from SD card
8. Select the update.zip file
9. Once update is finished doing its thing, click on "Reboot" (just an fyi, when the phone restarted it seemed to take a little bit longer than it usually does when booting up--do not fear!)
10. Bask in 2.3.7 goodness!

I am a little bit confused about this Google Wallet roll out... I read everywhere that NY (and I believe they said sometime back LA and/or SF) will be the initial testing market. So, I understand that to mean for the rest of us living elsewhere, we won't be able to use this functionality even if the software is properly installed and associated with a valid CC account.

Anyone has some information to clarify this. If that is so, then I have no rush in installing so I might as well wait for it to be rolled out via OTA to my phone.

You are right, I checked the Google Wallet page and has a map that shows where this service is available near you.

I should have checked it before posting... guess I've been locked up at work for too long and my brain is tired! Time to download, install and get a Whataburger on Google's dime... before they change their minds on the free $10 offer...

I had rooted 2.3.5 rom before and what I did was download Odexed GWK74 ROM and KE1 radio. Booted into recovery, wiped cache and davlik, flashed ROM. rebooted the phone, booted back into recovery and flashed radio. Rebooted back into the OS and all my data and settings were intact. Activated google wallet and got my $10 credit from google prepaid card. Also was able to add my citi mastercard as well. now time to shop
