I love my s8 and especially the battery life. Well, the software update 2 days ago took care of that. I'm literally watching my battery day. It just to last all day. Any thoughts?

I'm not sure, but it was this?

When issues like this suddenly appear, try doing a Wipe Cache Partition in Recovery Mode. Turn off your phone, press and keep pressed, Volume Up-Bixby and Power Buttons until you see a blue screen, then let it enter Recovery mode, once in there browse the options with the Volume buttons and enter with power button. Just do a Wipe Cache partition and then restart the phone.

Agreed. It's an easy and safe thing to try. Always worth a shot.

If the cache wipe explained above does not help once awaiting for everything to settle thrn back up and factory reset which could help.

If not seek advice from a Samsung Experience Store or Samsung Service Location.

You might have a new kernel, which when this happens, there is a lot of processes going on in the background that can appear as an excessive battery drain. It can take a few days before the kernel gets settled in.

Agree. Hard reset, while being a PITA, can solve a lot of issues.

Hard reset often cures many ills. Use smartswitch to make a back up. Then factory reset and restore from smartswitch.

Ok well I'm not getting notifications for this, oops. My battery settled in and seems much better. I appreciate all the tips!!

Sometimes it takes a couple of days for the battery to settle after an update. I always wipe cache partition after each update and wait for a day or two for it to settle and it has never failed me. Battery life has been really good after the recent update.
