Software Update Question?

Just got my S3 yesterday so its only been a day and I got to say I love it! When I go to:

Settings:
About device:
Software update
It says SOPFTWARE UP TO DATE STATUS LAST CHECKED and no date

So I push "CHECK NOW" And I get "SERVICE UNAVAILBALE" CHECK FOR SYSTEM UPDATES UNDER SETTINGS>ABOUT DEVICE WHEN SERVICE IS AVAIABLE"

Anyone have a clue what that means?

Mine says "No New Software Update Available" when I hit the "Check Now" button. Are you connected to a cell tower when you hit the button?

I just tried this because mine too showed no date checked. When I clicked check now it populated the date and time last checked. Sounds like you don't have a data signal.

I'm goggling stuff on the interent, updating apps, texting etc. Would that not indicate I have a data signel?

Yeah, that means you have a data signal. Are you using WiFi or cellular data though? If you're using WiFi, try turning WiFi off and check for updates with a cellular data connection.

I tryed it both ways. Same result. With the WiFi off just takes longer
