Oh these carriers I even have a SA 5g sim from T-Mobile. Well thanks for clearing that up.

I don't think there's a specific SIM needed for SA. Just a 5g sim. And I think that's also debatable as others have said that 5g works on their 4g sims, possibly after some carrier provisioning.

Yep, AT&T uses your plan type (needs to be on one of the unlimited plan) to control the 5G capability.
